    P.D. James has done it again, she's written another mystery that is gripping and pulls readers in with the first sentence. She sets the scene for a murder but it doesn't happen right away. The build-up creates tension and suspense especially since readers don't know when or how the crime will occur. ...

    I loved The Murder Room as I do all of PD James works. Adam Dalgliesh as always holds everyone together in a controlled orderly fashion. The characters are developed throughout and you find yourself understanding each and every one of them even if you do not approve of them.

    P.D. James, The Murder Room: Some readers may find the book good. It has good characterizations but the plot is extremely thin. When one reads 550 pages of a murder mystery, one expects the conspiracy to be at a bigger scale.
