I live in a very hard water area and after 3 years the flow rate dropped. While replacing the filter one of the fixing studs snapped off. I was only applying gentle pressure while reassembling it. The stud was badly welded. I contacted Quooker who offered a replacement body for £250, which I accepted as it was out of warranty. Maybe I should have pressed for it to be replaced free of charge as it was a manufacturing defect. While it was out of action we had to use a kettle again which was an eye opener as the Quooker is so convenient. I would never choose to go back to a kettle again.
