This has been the second negative experience with forbidden planet's online 'store', both of which concerned items listed as 'in stock' which in fact weren't.
The first item was a rare item so I could at least understand the stock difficulties, if not having an item which was out of print and unavailable listed as 'in stock' (as it still is).
The second item was ordered on release day. 3 weeks later with no sign of the item I called to enquire to be told it was on back-order and would be another 5 to 6 weeks. This is completely unacceptable - if the item wasn't received in time for the release date it should never have been listed as 'in stock', and if it was I doubt they had sold out on release day, especially given the item is also available elsewhere and verified in stock.
I got what sounded like a very well rehearsed reply from the assistant on the phone that 'the website isn't live' and I could either wait or receive a refund. I await the refund.
It baffles me how such an operation maintains itself. The physical stores are decent enough, so why waste a reputation and hosting costs on such a shoddy website?
