“Beware excessive booking fees!!!!!”

I booked five seats for Matilda about a month ahead of our trip. The booking fee totalled £90 ( Yes, NINETY!!!!) for these 5 seats. The booking fee is not shown as such on the site but is picked up on only one page of the booking process when a difference between the "Retail price" and the ticket's face value is shown. A friend recommended Theatre People when I told them I was looking to buy tickets for Wicked in London - and I must say I was very impressed with their service. I usually find buying tickets online a bit complicated - not just theatre tickets but cinema tickets, gig tickets and everything else. “Over Priced!”

I did a google search for tickets to see Wicked and the TheatrePeople website came up near the top, before ticket master who are linked to the theatre. I looked at the ticket prices on the website and they said they were 'face value'. When you go to buy the ticket they add £16.50 to the cost, no break down or highlighted extra charges. Booked tickets online but did not receive tickets after 2 weeks. I called them and was on hold for ages, then they would not refund the £2.50 postage and now have to collect the tickets myself! Cant believe it! Shocked and disgusted! Avoid! (read more)

“Fantastic theatre site!”

I booked some tickets to take my family to see The Wizard of Oz for a special occasion, and after using Google I came across theatrepeople.com. I usually use ticketmaster as they're the only site I know, however I was really impressed with theatrepeople. The site has a load of great content, videos and photos and I was able to see where I was going to sit before I booked. And to top it off, we saved about 30% on the tickets.
