Firstly, beware of Theatre Tickets Direct’s “Best Seats Available” special offer. You might be lucky and get good seats, we were not. For Phantom of the Opera we got seat B34-35 Royal Circle, the last two seats on the far left side, clearly not with full view of the stage. We corresponded with Theatre Tickets Direct, trying to cancel our booking and buy full price tickets with better view, but without any success. It appears that some high priced second grade seats are clearly overpriced as they offer only limited view, particularly to the back of the stage and are sold under the disguise of a special offer. It is of course legal what they are doing but to us clearly misleading and morally rather questionable.
However, what really made me write this review is their refusal to publish my 3 star feedback, which was free of abusive or offensive language, complimenting the performance and expressing my concerns of the “Best Seats Available” specials offered by Theatre Tickets Direct. I was told in writing that they could not publish my feedback because it was wrong according to them and that they could not publish negative comments. I am absolutely astonished about their arrogance but also about their practice of manipulating visitor feedback by excluding anything which does not suit them and in effect reducing the feedback section on their website to nothing more than self-serving advertising.
