I thought I had struck gold when I got Bruce Springsteen tickets. Only to find that Double8tickets were charging more than double the face value of the tickets. What a rip off! The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 states that traders who 'omit material information that the average consumer needs, according to the context, to take an informed transactional decision' are in breach of these regulations. Double8tickets does not declare that face value of the tickets up front and hides behind its terms and conditions which according to a legal source are invalid in light of the regulations.
After extensive research this is an issue which has been raised year after year and the politicians are pathetically weak at pursuing. So any consumer lawyer/ campaigners out there who want to make a name for themselves, you have my support.
