don't pay anything

Sadly, as with many people here I wish I had read this site before registering with 192.com. The website is deliberately confusing and although I only undertook 2 searches this seemed to eat up 5 searches and an upgrade. All I wanted to determine was whether someone I used to know was still alive. The whole entry to the site seems to imply this is possible but these details only go back to 2005 and these details are available free elsewhere.
I tried contacting customer services but get nowhere - they couldn't even access my search to answer my question properly.

It is absurd to be charged twice for doing the same search in the same visit. The pages seem to be intentionally confusing leading you to click your subject again without realising you are redoing the search - nobody would want to do this on purpose. At the same time you are continuously prompted to pay for upgraded searches for additional information where none is going to be available. Just avoid like the plague.
