Grand National day is the only time of year I place a bet. Oddschecker recommended Betfair as it offered good promo's / incentives for new customers. Account set up takes less than 1 minute...deposit funds instantly on set up no questions asked. Place bets. Race finishes Win £75.50 from £35 put down. Click to withdraw. This is where the problems start. Despite scanning my driving license which verifies my name and age, only after contacting them directly, do I find out they need to verify my address for some reason. Nowhere in "my account" does it 1. say they need that and 2. have any option for uploading a utility bill or bank statement as they request. Long story short --- this is a sham. Betfair make it as hard as possible to withdraw the money but as easy as possible to deposit. Should there not be a warning or a blocker when you try to deposit money if you are not verified? Are they not committing fraud at that time? Taking money from a stranger without verifying who they are. 100% sham. Two days to verify my account or it gets frozen. Betfair will not return my money - total sham. Already made a complaint to the IBAS.

This has NOTHING to do with the quality of the Betfair betting platform. I was surprised to find that the helpdesk agents have access to my user id, password, and memorable info in unencrypted form. This combination should not be available to individuals other than myself, think of an online bank account! An agent could use this info to access my account at any time. Are they all angels? somehow I doubt it. Knowing my personal identity details and my funding source goes a long way towards accessing my funds. And they wanted me to upload my ID and residence info too, cheeky blighters! I should add that for all I know this is the norm for the industry. I would ten times rather bet over the counter than expose myself to this level of risk!

Betfair not only charge for depositing your own money but now are holding onto your money for days when withdrawing. Customer service doesn't exsist and they are too full of themselves to be interested.ladbrokes exchange is way way better

Recently I saw ads on TV to bet on England risk free. I put £10 on England but unfortunately England lost. Now betfair is saying that I should have bet from sportbook and not through Exchange. When you go to betfair site you first land on Exchange. So new customers not aware of differences would bet on England. Also your joining bonus would be only as much as you bet. If betfair offers £50 free bets but you put your first bet of only £10 then you get only £10. Beware of such misleading ads.

Try to deposit money and its no problem but try to go through their id/age verification and its where problems start. It took me just 3 days of emails. It says they need to see a copy of your passport or drivers license in order to verify your age. Well i send them my passport and all the required documents (bank statement, credit card copy)and they denied my id check because i whiped out my passport number and bar code at the bottom of my passport. My foto my first/last name my age itd. was visible. They said they needed to see my passport number. If you are a smart person, ask, why do they need to see you passport number or bar code???(I have a Ukrainian passport,it is useless to check it in UK anyway. The only way to check it is at border control and customs and yet you would have to provide the original document to see if its real. But I doubt that betfair has connection to such a computer to check if your document is real. Beside you can not do it without connection to some serious government database) My passport number or bar code will not help them in anyway . They talk about security , but providing your passport number to gambling site- is it secure??? One thing is for sure, without this number or bar code it is impossible to make a fake passport, or drivers license and go to bank and get a fake loan ,,, right??...So my question is why that site wanted to see your passport number and bar code or any personal info on your documents. And anyone should ask themselves what this site do with those numbers,,and what kind of identity checks they do, if simple copy of passport with visible date of birth and photo is not enough for them. Why they want to see your actual passport number and bar code? According betfair, for your id check you can wipe out all the credit card numbers and only leave last 4, but with passport or drivers license the must see all the digits (simple answer: they sell this info on internet and make money on it..because if someone has info on your driver license or passport they can get those digits on the credit card that you wipe but they can not do it without your passport # or drivers license #). so if you think of security,,think 2 before doing business with this site...they definitely doing some shady business with all of those documents you send them to proof your identity. If you go to site,,you can deposit money with credit card, no problem ,no id check, but try to get your winning money back and its where they want something from you...your real documents. Priceless. Especially if you high roller and deposit large amount ,this site will definitely has all the necessary info to do a scam on you with fake ids. If you think it is not possible , think how people get fake id info and make credit card and take millions from credit card...Main venue is gambling site. and it seems that betfair is doing it right from UK. Dont believe, ask them why do they need a number of your passport or bar code of your passport. It is useless info for them,it will not tell them anything about you or your document as you send them a copy. But without it they will not open your new account or give your winning money. So if you high roller and someone charges your credit card somewhere in Saudia Arabia or takes a large loan. Think ,where did they get all of your drivers license numbers or passport numbers…ITS RIGHT at BETFAIR!!!! I would not be surpriced if this site operates just for that purpose to find a whale with large pockets and get all the documents from him. DON’T TRUST THIS SITE< USE YOUR HEAD!!!!

Exchange is a lot of fun. Betting one the US Masters was a lot of fun, as you can bet in and out.

I've always used Betfair. The addition of multiples last year and Cash Out this year makes it very hard to beat as a gambling experience. I lov the value th you cn gt on the ecxhange and no doubt with the addition of a fixed odds product it is the one to betting company o watch this year. Loving the Special One too!

The Exchange betting is fantastic, gives you a real feel for the market and who is back what, not just the bookies thoughts. Website feel and look is great, while the app makes betting while watching events easy/intuitive. Finally their facebook presence is informative/funny and just generally interesting to get in my feed. While their brand ambassadors give good advice and tips. Strongly recommend to friends

Using Betfair is an absolute no brainer if you're looking for value. Both exchange and fixed odds sportsbook are simple to use and offer great returns.

Used it since the beginning - still innovates, and still offers the best odds, plus the ability to day trade as the prices move or take the cash before the end of the match.

Used to be fantastic, but they've recently decided that exchagne betting isn't what they want to do, so they've hidden it behind a front page covered in junk and encouraging you to gamble on their casino.

Have been using Betfair since the launch of their new fixed odds and I have to say I am starting to be a very loyal customer of theirs. You can tell they're having a push on improving the whole user experience which is far better than the majority of the other online betting sites out there. I would give 10/10 for the options you have and 10/10 for the way its all becoming seamless across their other offerings which i like a lot. Betfair is sponsoring a lot of events of late which makes me think this is an online betting company to watch and bet with.

Best odds and lay bets. Why would anyone use any other betting site ?
written by on 27/05/2013
I really liked this website, different to the rest because I can actually lay bets as well which is different and I guess brings a great USP to it. I like the colours of the brands as well which is really great. I didn't like the fact that I lost though... Lol.

Plenty of markets to bet on, best exchange product about. Good possibility of trading out. I enjoy small stake betting on this site and also like the android app.

Easily the best betting site out there. Best value by far and easy to use. Exchange gambling offers something none of the rest of the sites come close to.

What a bizarre review - they haven't given up on the exchange - I use it all the time and the odds are better. It's the first link on the top of the page and it remembers your preference.
I bet you think eBay is rubbish now too since they introduced 'Buy It Now'. Or you work for Ladbrokes.
