After searching for a specific Surly frame I found there site to be the cheapest but after googling them for reviews I found that they were often a bit dodgy about stock levels so I erred on the side of caution & emailed them to check the size/color etc I wanted was in stock, I happily recieved an email stating the frame was in stock & ready for dispatch. Excellent. So placed my order on the Friday. I received an email stating they had received my order.
After patiently waiting till Tuesday I gave them a ring as I had yet not recieved an email in regards to the item been dispatched etc & wanted to know when I should recieve it. I was told it would be with me Wednesday, wonderful, not super fast but hey it was cheap. Waited in all day Wednesday....nothing, rang up about 4pm, it will definitely be with me Thursday morning. Okay. Mistakes happen. Thursday lunchtime comes around, no frame, ring them up. Same lady I have been speaking to says there has been a problem at the couriers end, "they have probably been really busy" riiiight :/ So I ask for a tracking number, she tells me she will call back in 10 mins with it as she does not have it, but 2 mins ago she told me she had tracked it & there was a delay. Bit fishy. Gave it 20mins & rang back, still no number, there looking for it in the paperwork! Nearly an hour later I get a call with the tracking number & a promise it will be with me Friday morning. I enter the number in the couriers website only to be told no package found. So i call the courier company, who tell me that number is not valid. When asked who the sender is I was told they have a habit of this & blaming the courier. They said it may be that if the number has just been generated it would not be in there system until the morning. So it seems as though they have not sent the frame.....& maybe after my phone call decided they would quickly pay for a shipping label to obtain a tracking number (hence the lengthy gap to find a tracking number). I called Triton again to express my concern & was told there was nothing they can do & would I like to cancel the order....cancel it?! but i thought it was meant to be in transit!?! So they lied to me. And disrespected the courier company. And they have my money & i have no frame.
You cannot beat shopping at Merlin Cycles, Chain Reaction, Wiggle, SJS.
Triton Cycles will never get my service again, or any of my friends. Disappointed.
