“Reasonable - but need more delivery information!”

I ordered a pair of Sealskinz sock for a Christmas present, the order went in on the 28th November and was acknowledged immediately, but we did not receive delivery information until the 6th December. While this is alright, actual delivery was a couple of days later, many other retailers are at least telling you the name of the carrier, and give an approximate delivery time so that you don't spend a whole day in waiting for the package. In summary, performance was reasonable but we would have liked more delivery information.
