When I spoke to people over the phone at Gym World they were all polite and helpful, but unfortunately their positive telephone manner is let down elsewhere in the system.

My items were in a pending state for about 2 weeks before I finally called to chase them up. Previous emails had gone unanswered. I was informed that the step was out of stock and other items were waiting for delivery from a supplier. Some days later and I got a phone call to see if I would accept an alternative colour to the item I ordered. I accepted it and a couple of days later my order arrived via City Link.

I took everything in and unboxed it carefully and was annoyed to find that the York Kettlebell I ordered had a massive split in the handle and couldn't be used. I immediately got on to the website and followed their instructions for a return - contacting them via the online form.

It took 3 forms for me to finally get a phone call back and then another couple of weeks before I got my first email contact from Gym World to say that the kettlebell was being replaced by York directly and they would arrange a swap. The courier York sent was good and he swapped the package no problems.

So at last I have a kettlebell that I can use, but I won't be using Gym World again and I can't recommend them to friends.
