“NON discount card prices are rubbish!”

★★☆☆☆

written by deghatto on 12/05/2012

Having thought I might go camping/walking this year I was most displeased after finding their new manchester store and eventually found a parking space in the confusing and very narrow carpark shared with an aldi and several other stores.

The store itself was well presented to be fair but with far too many clothing items rather than practical items, but my issue was with the prices for NON discount card holders.

I wandered around for a bit and picked up a few items, a simple tin camping mug, a small first aid kit, some insect repellent, water pure tablets and a day sack, i then went on to get a pair of hiking socks and then noticed that all the main shelf prices for items were displayed in bold for DISCOUNT CARD PRICES and in fact it would cost me some £12 for one pair of socks like £30 for a DAY sack and £20 for a first aid kit,etc
after going back round the store and looking for the tiny "normal" price labels i realised that it would have cost WELL in excess of £60 for these items
I mean come on walking and camping are supposed to be low cost and i don't see the point of getting a "discount card" prob meaning lots of junk mail etc for these few items
