I ordered a bike costing 400 pounds with expedited delivery because I was taking it on holiday. It arrived just over one week before my departure, but unfortunately it was damaged. All the paint was flaking off the front forks - something which when fitting say the tyre or brakes to the bike surely must have been very very noticeable.
I complained (nicely). and they agreed to pick it up for inspection in order to replace it. I had to call them 4 days later and ask when it was being picked up as nobody had been in touch since. It was picked up that same day without warning (thank god somebody was in). I also asked on the phone if they could guarantee that the replacement would be with me by Thursday and I was told that it would be.
A day later I received a full refund, which was annoying considering what had been promised to me the day before.
I complained again (still nicely) and was told that I could re-order the bike if I wanted it. I explained that I might not do this as my experience so far had been pretty horrendous.
I was offered 40 pounds to spend on a more expensive bike - but they wouldn't give me anything off the bike that I wanted!
Needless to say I've ordered elsewhere. 1 star because while there was probably no malicious intent there is I believe a certain amount of incompetence and apathy at play.
