“Club sale experience”

Having submitted full details by e-mail of second hand clubs I had for sale or trade in, I received an e-mail offer of cash £85 for specified clubs or £110 for all I had - 9 clubs in all. Next day - 19th March - I delivered the Clubs to the East Kilbride store where it was indicated to me right away that they could not pay the £85 offered but would pay £50, and there was no mention at all of the £110 originally offered for the lot - eventually £55 was offered for 5 clubs but no sign of cash - I was to be paid by cheque in 4 days. Eventually I received the cheque on 28th March.
I do not have a particular complaint - only a message to would-be sellers that the Company's adverts and web site make a trade-in deal sound much more likely and straightforward than it turned out to be and the "cash" element is received later than you might expect.

Thank you for your feedback. The price we quote on email is based on the information provided by the seller, this includes the condition of the clubs. What has happened is that the condition quoted and what was presented in store differed.
We do pay cash for clubs, this is dependent on what is being sold. With some brands we need to contact the supplier to ensure we aren't buying counterfeit, often they take 24hrs to respond. We have a lot of people looking for similar deals and as you would understand it takes time to go over all the clubs, checking authenticity and researching costs. With regards to the delay in the cheque I can only apologise, this is not our normal time scale, we do make every effort to have cheques sent promptly.
