Asked for 2pairs of shoes to be paired off so i could try them on, no smile etc. From the cashier. Having got them i tried them on, one pair had a slight fault but they were comfy. I took them to the counter and asked if a small discount could be done for the fault, she didnt look at me just gruffly said no. I bought a pair of Lilley and Skinner shoes on holiday in wales, they were so comfortable. I searched and searched for more and found them on this website. The site was easy to navigate, ordering was easy and the shoes arrived in 3 days (standard delivery). Excellent service and great quality shoes, I am so pleased I've just ordered more. Ordered mens boots thru shop in Caterham. Waited for delivery none came. Chased up cound not care less customer services said "last pair in stock damaged, dident someone ring to say we dont have any more, stopped doing them?" NO they did not ring, they could have offered alternative colour but NO.. Moronic staff. Had to go all the way back to get money back. Worse shop ever. Dont buy in shop or online. In the past I have been very satisfied with the service, & always delighted with the shoes, in fact I liked this pair of sandals so much I thought I would order I a different colour. They arrived very quickly, only to find the colour was the same as I'd already got! Kerfuffle then as I had to take them back to the shop. I have now ordered again. We have never had any problems with Stead and Simpson. They have shoes in all different styles and sizes. I can only have one type of trainer (The Black Hi-Tec trainers) because of my hospital insoles and they stock the ones I need for only £20. The service we receive has always been quick and easy - there hasn't been delays in getting our shoes from them. I am very disappointed with the way that Stead and Simpson have dealt with my complaint regarding what I believe is the leather stretching on the upper part of my shoes. After a few weeks of purchase the upper part of the shoe became very creased and was pressing into the top of my feet. The local store manager and the area manager refused to change the shoes nor come to a compromise. I was amazed to find stead & Simpson still going. Must say their delivery is very good and the fact they deal with wide fitting shoe wear is a massive bonus. I have terrible trouble finding wide fitting shoes unless you are prepared to pay the earth, while everything is geared for the super slimmer or lucky narrow footed person. I broke my Hobo sandals while on holiday. ( My fault not the Hobos) and in 5 minutes have ordered the replacements from Stead and Simpson for the same price on line with free delivery quicker than I could have walked up the road to the bus stop.
