Over the last 10 months I have placed 8 orders with VETUK. and over 50% of those orders were late or damaged or both and one did not turn up for 3 weeks. As I am writing this review I am waiting for another delivery that should have been here yesterday. If you like to feed your pet I suggest that you buy your food from somewhere else because that is what I am going to do

I ordered medication for my dog who has a heart problem.I bought Vetmedin as here in Italy it is very expensive, i find it cheaper in England.It took nine days to get here a bit longer than they said but we are abroad.Also they gave me a gift which was very nice.

“Shocking - complete meltdown - avoid”

Have ordered goods several weeks ago - no despatch and a helpdesk who doesn't bother explaining, or even answers to the point when enquiring about the status of your order. AVOID AVOID AVOID is the best advice I can give. And shockingly, while they are not despatching orders that were placed several weeks ago (for which they greedily took already the money, unlike others who only take the money after delivery), there is NO warning on their website they are in complete lockdown since weeks.

“AVOID THIS COMPANY!”

As a long term customer of this company I ordered £109 worth of prescription goods on the 9th February 2016. However after nearly a week I’d heard nothing and then when contacting them was informed that the prescriptions held on file had expired but no-one had bothered to inform me. I have then provided in date prescriptions and had no response. I contacted this company four times regarding my order and every message was ignored. Items ordered and paid for were not received and they even ignored my demand for money paid to be refunded. In the end I had to contact my credit card company on the 26th February to have the money refunded by them. Worst customer service and I would recommend using another company like Pet Drugs Online, where you can at least speak to competent helpful staff.

“Gone right downhill recently”

I have used VETUK for a few years now. I was always happy with them. A couple of orders I placed in early February took slightly longer than usual to arrive, but nothing too serious. However, I then placed another order in mid-February which contained essential pet medicine; this had not been dispatched several days later (despite their two working day dispatch promise). I emailed to chase the order, asking for a dispatch date, reminding them of their dispatch commitment and pointing out that the order contained medicine. In response I received a pointless email that blamed system changes and said the order should be dispatched soon. I called to get a more specific answer and was told my order would be prioritized. The order was still not dispatched. I called again; this time they actually looked into my order (or, perhaps, left me hanging on the phone while they did something else); they claimed that there had been a problem with the new system which had led to my order being stalled in the system; this had been fixed and my order would now be dispatched. Moreover, the "customer services" person said she would keep an eye on my order and give me an update. Surprise surprise: no dispatch, no update. I gave up wasting any more of my time chasing them. I emailed to cancel the order and requested a refund, which they have done. Their "customer services" department could not have been less effective or less caring if they'd tried. They were great at reeling out excuses (which seemed to change somewhat each time), but totally useless at solving the problem. Their response to my cancellation was to send me a discount voucher which I could use off my next shop. Great - so now I can have 10% off a whole load of stuff that won't arrive! No thanks.

“AWFUL Avoid like the plague!!”

I purchased an expensive ScoopFree self-cleaning litter tray on the 31st July. VetUK promised despatch within 48 hrs of order receipt and delivery by 48hr courier, so I was looking forward to felivery by the 6th at the latest. The 6th rolled around and no delivery. On the 7th I had a missed delivery card from Royal Mail, so headed to the depot eagerly to collect my item - only to find it was something else. I had been provided with a tracking number, but no info as to to who the courier was, so couldn't track it! By this point I knew something must be wrong, so I tried to contact them. For a start their phone number is not available on their website. I had to find it in the legal information of their eb. I then got an out of office automated voice message saying they close at 4.30pm on Fridays. So don't bother trying to contact these people over a weekend. To cut the rest of a long story short, it transpires that they provided DPD (the courier) with the incorrect address and my parcel had been delivered to somebody else. DPD quite rightly refuse to accept liability because they delivered it to the address they were provided with. VetUK have tried to deny that it was delivered to the wrong address, suggested I recover the item myself (which I have tried) and sent me further messages in german addressed to a different client with proof of postage for a parcel sent to Germany!! I am not sure if they are completely incompetent or just taking the mick at this stage, either way: ONCE THESE PEOPLE HAVE YOUR MONEY, THEY DO NOT GIVE A MONKEYS ABOUT YOU. Almost a week on since my original email and I've still had no refund or product. Nearly two weeks since my original order date. I am going to have to speak to the CAB now I think but I am determined to get my money back. VetUk's prices are low for a reason. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

“sold damaged goods, refused responsibility!”

Bought a dog cage from VetUK through eBay, got the cage at a good price. When the delivery arrived, the box was heavily taped with vetuk parcel tape in one corner. I thought that vetuk would quality check all their goods going out so thought the box had been ripped but the contents will be fine. When I opened the box I found the dog cage tray was bent and twisted , the cage bars were bent in one corner with 2 retaining clips missing. I complained and vetuk were unable to replace the dog cage. They offered me a measly 10% refund on the purchase price stating it would have been damaged in transit. I don't think so unless they provide their courier with their own packing tape! They have refused to enter in any negotiation and stick with a 10% refund only, even though I have evidenced the fact they sold me damaged goods. Their customer service is very poor and they will not accept liability even with overwhelming evidence against them!

“BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!”

Item was not listed as correct dimensions. It measured the inside of the bowl but did not state this (even the inside of the bowl measurement was wrong!). When you measure something in length you measure from the widest part!!! Other item bought was the correct dimensions as listed so how can one be different and measure the inside of the item & not state this?) Emailed them of this error and that the bowls would be no use to me due to the size not being as stated & asked them what the exact size is of another bowl.... I got a crappy email back from them saying they would refund but not the postage and that the dimensions for the other bowl enquiring about are clearly stated in the listing (which they were not!) Couldn't find a tel number for them anywhere, but got a tel number from the email response. First spoke to a nice lady who was just going to give me the free postage & would find out more about the listing. I then received an email stating she had spoke to the lady who had already email me (the shirty one) that they wouldn't be offering free postage to send the item back. I then phoned again and spoke to a man & he said he would just check and again he spoke to the shirty lady (who originally email me) & no free postage would be given to send the item back because it is the sizes that the supplier uses universally. So I end up with bowls that I have no use for and out of pocket. ONLY BUY IF YOU INTEND TO KEEP THE ITEM & BE AWARE THAT THE ITEM LISTED MIGHT NOT BE EXACTLY AS THE ITEM YOU RECEIVE SO BE PREPARED TO PAY FOR POSTAGE TO SEND THE ITEM BACK!!!.

“Bad company, bad service, very unhelpful!! ”

Damaged 4kg bag of food, very poorly packaged!! Very unhelpful customer service team! I will never shop with this company again and I urge other potential customers to reconsider choosing to shop with this company. They may be cheap but you get what you pay for damaged goods and an all round shoddy service!!

“Item not delivered but money debited from my card anyway”

I ordered pet food from this company which never arrived. When I contacted them they told me that nobody was home when they tried to deliver. Someone was in all the time and no note was left to confirm that they had ever been there. Later they debited £5 from my credit card for 'delivery' and insisted that they had tried to deliver it. They didn't charge me for the item but refused to refund the £5. This is contradictory as in effect they accepted that I didn't receive the item but charged me for not delivering it. I don't believe that they ever tried to deliver it, if they had they would have left some confirmation. To add insult to injury, I then contacted Consumer Direct, the government's 'advice helpline' and they told me that as Vet UK is a private company they can do as they like! Apparently swindling people on the internet is now considered an acceptable way to do business.

“Waste of my Time Item ordered Out of Stock!!”

I ordered some products on the 5th Dec from website. I then heard nothing except confirmation of my order until today 9th Dec at 10.30am to say my order was dispatched. Then at 12.10pm I get another email to tell me that the main item was not sent due to being out of stock!! Useless! why advertise an item if you have not got it, they offered no similar alternative and waited four days to tell me after dispatching other small items. I now have to re order and pay postage where I wanted to order all things together to save postage. Very poor customer service Wake up VetUK

“poor quality goods”

recently purchased finger toothbrushes for my dogs which failed within seconds. When reported to company was told to photograph them and send an image as this was 'their policy', their position was intransigent - i offered to send the useless items back but no they had to have a photograph. A company's attitude to their customers is important and although the items in question in my case were of little value their response has ensured i will never use them again - plenty of choice out there.

“Unreliable and poor service”

Very disappointed with Vet UK and the service they provide. They are very unreliable when ordering items and although money is taken from account immediately items often not in stock - although this is not stated when ordering but can be as long as two days later. This then delays the order by some considerable time (even when ordering many items they won't send rest of order until out of stock item is in!!). Customer service is very poor and although emails are responded to they refuse to take an action to resolve the situation eg send rest of order (particulary when urgent medical items such as syringes are needed). I will not be using this company anymore and will definately not be recomending it.

“VetUK offer good service and good prices”

I have used www.vetuk.co.uk for about two years. I order two 12kg bags of Hill's dog food every month. Although the price of Hill's has increased, I still get the best price from VetUK, free delivery, and I often take advantage of discount codes and promotions. VetUK also offer a loyalty points scheme, which can be applied to your order for further discount. Like: Dog food always in stock, quick turn around on orders, next day delivery with DPD courier - and they offer a very good service. Dislike: Only internet or email, so if there is a problem, it can take some time to speak to a real person. BUT, emails are always answered. Overall, I use VetUK because it's easy and I get big bags of dog food delivered to my door. No hungry dogs here!

I have recommended them to various people who have thanked me for saving them lots of money getting products way cheaper than they had been getting them from their vets and local outlets.

“Do not comply with DSRs”

Beware - this company does not comply with Distance Selling Regulations unless forced to do so by you, the customer! I bought a bag of dog food and some treats to be delivered to Portugal by courier. They charge £18.00 for delivery and quoted a 3 day lead time. Nearly 2 weeks later I still had not received the goods so I cancelled my order, which is my right under DSRs. The retailer is supposed to refund your money ''as soon as possible after the customer cancels'' but, instead Vetuk made me wait almost 2 weeks until the goods were returned. This is against DSRs which state that the retailer ''CANNOT INSIST THAT THE GOODS ARE RETURNED''!! At the end of the day, I had not received the goods, they were with THEIR courier. When my refund finally did arrive, it was minus the cost of delivery. Yet again I had to tell them that, under DSRs, the retailer MUST REFUND THE COST OF DELIVERY! Ignorance is no defence. If you operate an online business you should operate it within the law. Unfortunately many people do not know their rights under Distance Selling Regulations so I'm sure people are being ripped off by this company all the time. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!! Don't let retailers take you for a ride. I will never buy from this company again.
