“Rubbish wouldn't recommend ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JessieBreen on 24/02/2016

We cancelled our world pay account for our Lancaster office when the office was shut in May 2014. Worldpay continued to charge us £18 monthly even though there were no transactions being made on the machine.

When we realised the error and contacted Worldpay in November 2015 they claimed not to have received the account closure notification (originally sent to streamline) and they insisted on a months notice. Also the final billing date changed from December 2015 to January 2015 with no clear explanation give. Also t did take a long time to get to this stage as I didn’t get any response to my emails.

We sent the terminal back at the time which they claim not to have received and now claiming they sent a new terminal on 16th June 2015 and expect us to return this which is impossible as we were no longer at the premises and in fact had moved out in May 2014. We are a small charity and had to close the office due to funding cuts. They are threatening to charge us anything between £238 – £367+VAT per terminal (depending on which letter you read)for the terminals.

I have asked for proof of deliver of the new terminal etc as they have done to us but not surprisingly didn’t get a reply.

I am looking to move our accounts away from Worldpay.
Worldpay have sent us an invoice for £285.60 for a old terminal that we had returned. We received the invoice today (23rd Feb) and the invoice date is 18th February and on it they threaten to take the payment from our account on or after 19th February talk about no notice give.

Also I terminated out account with them after this. We had 4 terminals with them. We gave notice to end the accounts before the reprice period and didn’t receive acknowledgement until much later after the date of notice. And then only to be told that we are being charged £148.20 plus VAT for a 312 minimum hire period for one of the terminals because we made two payment of £10.25 after the termination date.

We were not informed prior to this that the account would carry over nor not did we sign a new contract to agree to this. The fact is the terminal had been used in error and only two payments were taken of £10.25. The terminal wasn’t used again after this. How this can warrant the above charge is beyond me.

To add to that they are extremely slow to get back to us. We are still awaiting confirmation of closure of accounts even though the closures took place on 12th February 2016 and we haven’t received the envelopes to return the terminals. No doubt they will try to charge us if these terminals are not returned in time.

We are a small charity and it seems they are determined to rip us off. We made the right decision to move from them and there is no way we would every consider going back to them.
