“Easily the worst business i've ever dealt with ”

Where to start... Weekly billing, so if you don't use your card that week they'll charge you either a non use fee or a low use fee. Then this 'ecopoint' charge which is for carbon offsetting, persistently asking them to remove it. Asked them for a credit limit raise which took them two weeks to say no.. I changed my bank account an they tried to claim the DD from the old bank and then charged me a £95 fee for unclaimed DD, and yes that was £95 not £9.50.... First time ive tried a fuel card, as a sole trader just starting out i cherished saving some money on my fuel. Very nice at first promised me two cards, only one ever arrived ? Then the charges started, i missed a direct debit and paid over the phone the next morning, was charged £95 admin fee "bounced direct debit", how childish. As previous reveiws, hidden charges on invoicing and it costs a fortune to phone them to try and sort out. Was promised that the suddenly appearing Underused Account Fee would be waived for 6 months, only to find it charged again the following month. As someone who worked for the company for over 12 months, I can understand the frustrations of the customers. The 'powers at be' add various charges to customers accounts without even preparing the customer service team for the increase of complaint calls. They tell the staff that they add charges as ' a talking point', to get customer to call in. However they secretly hope the customer doesn't check their invoice!! As an employee i stress you should stay well away from This company - check your prices, invoices and all the hidden charges - non use fee, under used fee. Eco point and zero liability charges get added on to your account with out acknowledgement. Anual they charge all customers 19.99 per card per year but others companies offer free cards. I would echo nearly every other commenter here - this company, or it's agents are untruthful in that they obtain new business by promising no charges and then apply charges without any notification - about three different charges in my experience. They were also apparently unable to stop so-called 'voluntary charges' from being applied to the account in perpetuity. Avoid this company at all costs, hidden charges, charitable donations added without notice, extra fuel cards added to account without authorization. But then prices increased with the excuse experian had contacted them about my company so they put prices up around 20%, they would not tell me what experian had said. Lies. Lies. They contacted us in June offered competitive price, filled everything in, received confirmation that it was all set up, no cards arrived, in September they sent a snotty email saying we hadn't given our bank details so they couldn't proceed, sent then the confirmation, wasn't good enough, so had to fill it all in again, again received confirmation. have received four weekly prices for the following weeks, no cards arrived, then a phone call asking why we had not used the cards, err, no cards… Read Full Review

“Don't touch them”

We have used the Fuelcard comapny for 14months, using two fuel cards to buy diesel at a lower rate than on the pump. All was well to start with until they started charging us for 'Ecopoint' at £18 per month. If we had been properly consulted about this we would have probably accepted it, but no consultation just a charge. How the FuelCard Company is still in business is beyond me. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company in all my life. Everything that has been mentioned before in other reviews is true. Stay well clear, read your contract (for what it is worth) and send everything registered post and keep emails. They will threaten court action if you have cancelled without notice. “Over charging, hidden charges! Stay away!”

Extremely disappointed with this company. Used them for 2 years and for the first 12 months they were competitive. Our business got busy, then when we checked the price we were being charged, they were charging us £0.25 over the pump price. When I rang up to discuss, they said the most they could reduce it by was £0.02. Was told they would further reduce the following week but they did not. Having taken out cards a couple of years ago and discussing in advance i run a seasonal business, we used them for the first year and found them average. In the last year we have found its cheaper at the pump so stopped using the cards. Now we have non usage fees and Zero liability charges and Ecopoint charge whatever the hell that is. “Overpriced and some very strange practices”
