If PayPal were properly regulated they would have been closed down years ago.
But they are registered in Luxembourg and can avoid every complaint procedure laid against them.
After just a few weeks of online transactions my PayPal account was 'limited' (i.e. frozen) with £500 of my funds withheld.
Asked to provide a long list of identifying documents for my company:
Certificate of incorporation
Proof of trading address
Proof of my identity as Director
Proof of my own address
These documents were sent to them THREE times as I kept receiving stupid emails asking for the same documents.
Having sent 21 emails and four complaints to PayPal plus over 12 hours in phone calls to their 'Customer Services' department - still no result. In fact their Customer Services Department is full of idiots who just read off from a script on their computers.
Three months later the account is still frozen.
I raise a complaint with the UK Financial Ombudsman - completely useless as all they do is say that PayPal have abided by their User Agreement (they haven't) and therefore I am at fault.
By the way - the Review Centre should not force reviewers to give 1 star when the service deserves no stars at all.
STAY AWAY from PAYPAL!
