I am from the USA. I am a computer technician and made a purchase through ebay for a computer system and the seller only accepted Skrill/Moneybookers. I looked into this Skrill payment option and ebay policies clearly stated that Ebay buyer protection covered Skrill as approved payment method, so I assumed that it was safe to use. I paid for the item through Skrill on July 31, 2012. On August 1, 2012 I made a purchase through buydig.com (regular customer) for a camera and several hours later, they informed me that my credit card company declined the purchase. I had no balance on my credit card and I was very puzzled, next I called in to my credit card company to inquire about this decline and looked at my credit card information online. They told me that there were unauthorized charges earlier today and they declined all purchases. It was "mate1.com," a dating website and get this, from "LONDON." That immediately alerted me that my credit card was compromised and had been stolen/sold by Skrill which is also based in "London." I am from the USA, and they used my credit card 1 day after I signed up for a Skrill account. My credit card was a business card so they automatically knew that this was not right, cancelled the credit card, and sent me a new one. This was absolutely the worst experience I've had with a payment service. I have been using Paypal for over 10 years on ebay and NEVER had one unauthorized charge or my bank/card information compromised. This company is a joke, either they have an unsecured website or they sold my credit card information. First experience will be my last with them, PAYPAL/Google Checkout is the ONLY way to go. I WILL NEVER USE SKRILL AGAIN! AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! THIS COMPANY GETS A RATING OF 0/100. SECURE YOUR OWN WEBSITE OR STOP SELLING YOUR CLIENT'S CREDIT CARD INFORMATION SKRILL!
