In mid 2015, Specsavers prescribed lenses and a frame costing 125 pounds.
I returned saying the glasses were not helping my distance vision. A repeat eye test suggested the problem was clouding of the implanted lenses from cataract surgery about five years earlier.
I had private laser treatment to clear up the clouding after which an eye test at Specsavers confirmed I didn't need glasses for distance vision.
I then had expensive frames with useless lenses, so asked to have reading lenses fitted, for which I was charged 69 pounds. That was same amount as for supplying two new frames with two sets of lenses under a current offer!
I emailed complaints, saying I felt the charge was excessive as I was only supplied with one set of reading lenses fitted to a frame I’d already purchased from them.
I receive a phone call from the branch saying they’d spoken to a “director” (no less!) who stated the 3 month warranty was over and they’d offer a discount on my next pair of glasses. I won’t be using Specsavers again.
