Terrible customer services for UK buyers. Just don't respond at all to correspondence by email, never get back in any way. Just acknowledge with ticket no. Waiting, waiting, waiting.

Ordered in January did not recieve until March damaged and incorrect prescription. Then resent to correct and have not received back, all emails ignored. And now they are refusing to send at all. #AVOID#

Have bought £6 specs here in the past no trouble but for some reason they decided to add on lens prices and other things, so came to nearly £30. Sk went to Googles4u and got them 2 pairs for £14 with extra discount...

The prices Selectspecs promote are totally untrue in reality. Can be a lengthy enough experience finding glasses, but Selectspecs make that journey a disappointing waste of time. The premise seems to be wooing customers with an initial offer of something like £6 for a pair of glasses, that starts growing and growing in cost as soon as you might want something like lenses or a prescription to match them. So for example, a fairly basic pair of glasses I selected for £6, became £20, then over £30 -for the same glasses. If this wasn’t bad enough, a few hours later I received an email from Selectspecs demanding a further £30 to actually make my prescription work. So that’s over 10 times the cost of what was initially suggested. Had these myriad of extra costs been more honestly displayed from the outset of my customer journey, I simply would not have wasted so much time and sought glasses from elsewhere. But clearly the idea was to sucker me in and only reveal added costs later down the line, which seemed unfair and poor conduct. So I took issue with this and phoned up their customer services. Whereupon I was quite literally laughed at during one stage of the conversation. So after having so much time wasted and being disrespected by this company, I hope my review might save others a similar loss.

Avoid – order was delayed, anti-glare coating is very poor quality and there is no substitute for trying on frames at an Opticians. Summary: I purchased my 1st ever pair of glasses from SelectSpecs and had a very simple reading glasses prescription, I really should have stuck with Boots Optician who were great, advised and helped me pick the right frames (Penguin). Being penny wise, I then choose the same pair form SelectSpecs – this was my 1st mistake. It took over a month for my glasses to arrive where Boots guaranteed delivery to store within 7 working days – select Specs gave the reason of Designer Frames taking longer despite their website suggesting 10 days. The Anti-Glare coating isn’t good quality and after complaining, I was offered a discount for a second pair from Select Specs’ ‘Sliver’ range. I selected and paid (£30) for a spare pair which i didn't really need despite being a very poor selection, only to be delayed again and then required to pay a further £55 as the cost of the simple prescription lenses had increased since the time (3 weeks & their delay) of my ‘processing’ order. This firm is really unprofessional, unreliable and untrustworthy. I still await a refund!

Placed an order for 5 different spectacles for the family. Delays in shipping and issues with customer services to give clarity on European shipping. Finally the order arrived after some weeks. They were of average quality spectacles, 4 were reading ones and were OK except the screws keep loosening weekly and this is annoying for my wife and daughter. However the Main pair for driving with Green Transitions lenses were good at the start, within 3 months of use the dark external coating on the frames started to ripple on the arms around the ears. Making it uncomfortable to wear. After emailing them when in the UK for easter for 2 weeks, they replied back late and I had left the UK to go back home. This was at the time a simple resolution to send me replacement arms and I can fit them and send back the faulty ones. NO that was too simple and I had to return the complete frames back for full inspection. Many emails later the "Jobsworth" technicians refused to understand simple logic and common sense of it. I could not do without them and have had to live with the glasses which have become worse by the month. Now I can see signs of the coating coming off the front face of the frames. Soon enough they will look really ugly and will become like the sides. There is No option other than to send the complete frames back. To sustain the extra cost and the period of being without my driving glasses. What they will do in the end is anyones guess. Online they offer a great many options and with having 5 different frames from them, They are worse than the Online Chinese websites. Which I have used before and I can say none of their frames were so poor in quality. Only because of the green Transitions lenses I chose this company. In future I will stay away from them. I can see many people have had good experiences and I don't believe they care when an issue happens to individuals. Steer Clear from this company.. You will NOT get any decent support form them...

I have used them in the past without issues but lately their customer service and quality of their products has severely deteriorated. I was sold a faulty pair of spectacles and after they acknowledged the fault they still refused a full refund, leaving me out of pocket to the tune of 2/3 of the value of the item. If you are willing to gamble your cash, it is a low bet. But if you care about your eyesight it is better to go elsewhere.

Ordered another pair of the same frames as my last ones broke, I did the same thing before and my lenses fit perfectly but this time they do not fit!! the size of the frames seems to have changed and it does not state anywhere that this is the case! customer service is atrocious!!

Review of SelectSpecs.com Donna L 1 review 1 star: Bad A minute ago NO EXPLANATION FOR GLASSES BREAKING ON MY HEAD Ordered reading glasses and my lenses were not equalled out like majority offer. They never even asked. I received my glasses after a long wait. They looked nice. After approx 3-4 times being used, the frames cracked while on my head. I sent pictures and had to send them back and wait for another pair which was supposed to be within 7 days but wasnt, so couldnt read bills or documents. I finally received another pair and after the 3 time I wore them the same thing happened cracked while wearing them, but only 1 side this time. No warning in description of frames that only suitable for certain lenses. I made contact again and said would equaling the lenses out and making them thinner help. I also said a refund otherwise as I didnt want them again as is. Have photos I can share. They just offered me a refund of less than I paid and no explanation or apologies. No good will gesture to thin the lenses or even at a reduced cost. They explained nothing both times. Have emails willing to share if necessary. I would not recommend as you get no explanation. Just refund being processed for less money than charged.

I have made the same enquiry repeatedly by email. All I get is fobbed off and I don't think staff are even reading beyond the first sentence. All I am trying to do is make a purchase. If they're this difficult when you are just offering them money. Then you shudder to think how bad they would be at dealing with a complaint if something went wrong. Decide yourself if you want to risk it?

Ordered my glasses in March. I payed immediately and the money was taken from my account. I received an e-mail from them the next day asking me to choose thinner lenses. But there was no way to change my order online - so I had to e-mail them saying I'm happy for them to use thinner lenses and I am also happy to pay the extra. I got a query ticket - with a 5 day reply wait. Even after 10 days, I never heard anything - so I phoned them. The gentleman at the other end said he will now amend the order and details for additional payment will be sent by e-mail in 5 minutes. 3 days went by - nothing. So I called up again to ask what happened. The gentleman said he will pass on my instructions to the customer services department (??) and I will be hearing from them "soon." The wait continues...money spent, no product received, a month gone by. If I had gone to a high street optician (who remained open during the pandemic) I would have got my glasses by now - even if they are a bit more expensive.

Still waiting.Ordered on 18th April no sign of them in June. Lots of excuses. A shame because the specs which did eventually arrive are good at a very competitive price. Went to "Flagship" store in Westgate, tiny little shop, " no contact" with mail order side....

They did not provide me with tracking number. The product was not delivered. avoid this company!!! Customer service did not help at all. It is non-existent I WAS ROBBED. AVOID BUYING FROM THEM AT ALL COST! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!

It is 7 weeks now since I ordered my specs and there is still no sign of them. I have received emails stating the delivery date has been put back twice now, second delivery date has come and gone with no sign of my glasses. I have emailed customer services and was offered 10% off future orders by way of compensation. I phoned customer services helpline to hear recorded message saying I was number one in the queue to be answered, which swiftly turned into, I could expect a call back shortly, this hasn't happened yet. The "online account" is of no use, information just disappears and it is impossible to save prescription details as these disappear too.

Avoid at all cost. They state 7 - 10 working days to produce which is so misleading as is their order tracking online. Ordered 5th December, over a month later and I have no glasses delivered and shoddy communication from Select Specs. I have zero confidence that they can effectively deliver my 2 pairs of glasses. Please don't waste your time or money on this company. Read the poor reviews which are all over the internet.

7 week wait and the worst customer service? yes that's select specs! If you want cheap glasses, appalling service, to be ignored and a script read to you? and even get the same rubbish when you talk to the directors? Then shop here! They will let down every expectation you have! And from the attitude of everyone at the company, they ain't bovered! If you do make the mistake of using them read every minute detail on the website with extreme care and do a full examination of all the terms and conditions, as they don't believe they are ever wrong or could mislead you or anyone could ever make a mistake! Be warned aviod this company at all costs!!!!!! Use them and you will be sorry!

I bought two pairs of glasses from them starting with order # 325983 this past winter followed with another pair order # 343106 switch to 3556100 which showed to be in stock on the 21 of April, 2014. Let’s start with the first pair which was one for reading and computer work. I was not sure about the type of lens I should pick so I asked them for an opinion and they suggested a progressive type lens. The order took about a month before it got to me. When I tried them on, I just couldn't see clearly so of course i did like many other people do which is keep them on as we need to get use to them...right? Well, after two weeks, I never did! I was already out of their return policy so basically I was stuck with them. Bear in mind that I did contact SelectSpecs and they offer me to just change the type of lens at my cost of course. I just left them in a drawer and completely forgot about them till last week. Now the second pair but this time for distance. It took over 6 weeks before they finally shipped them to me and once I put them on, there were clearly issues with the lenses but more so on the right side where at least 20% on the lens had next to no prescription in it. I have never seen or heard anything close to this happening in my lifetime. I of course told them about it and was asked to ship them back. A child would have had seen the problem but somehow, they argued with me from the PD being incorrect to not seeing the problem. They basically did their very best to attempt to pass the blame on to me. I actually had to send them a picture of the glasses and explaining the problem with explanations that I would have found embarrassing if I were them but sure enough, they just couldn't see the problem. They for sure have a policy to attempt to pass the blame on the client. After multiple emails without them answering anymore, I sent them an email nearly a week after, explaining about how websites such as this one would be useful to denounce them. Within a few hours, they answered me saying that they will reglaze them but never admitted fault as they would have to pay for my shipment cost. Anyway, I finally received them on the 4th week of July. They did a much better job this time but to be honest, I don't trust them at all so I sent them to a lab last week to see if the glasses have the correct prescription in them. I also sent out my reading glasses to be tested as well. It was an extremely frustrating experience and for that reason, I cannot possibly recommend them. Furthermore, there’s just no way that they have a quality control department as described on their website. I have to question many opinions in here as I am 100% sure they come from them disguised as customers. This is the results for my reading glasses… This is my prescription: Eye SPH CYL AXIS ADD P.Distance Right -0.25 -0.50 105.0 2.00 71.0 Left 0.00 -0.50 70.0 2.00 This is what was sent to me: Eye SPH CYL AXIS ADD P.Distance Right 0.00 -0.25 55.0 1.75 Left 0.00 -0.25 55.0 1.50 No wonder it was blurry and cause so much dizziness. Not only were they completely off, they actually sent glasses that could harm my eyesight!!! I have the document from a lab that proves this. Bear in mind that they are well aware of this but no one contacted me to apologize and offer to fix this. How’s that for professionalism? Of course, when you contact them, they never assume responsibility for anything. That one cost nearly $252.00 dollars and they will gather dust as I cannot use them. I have visited many review sites about this company after what happened to me and except for one (this one) who clearly shows some fake reviews posted by them, all others hammer SelectSpecs.com. Even the Better Business Bureau gave them an "F". I should've done my homework before dealing with them. HERE'S SOME EXAMPLES OF WHAT IS BEING SAID ON OTHER SITES.... - "They send wrong prescription glasses, blame you for mistake" ...yep, got that one. - "They have extremely poor customer service" …. Particularly when they are at fault. - "Extremely slow delivery" …. You can say that again. - "They do not care about the customer's satisfaction"….. Apparently, many think the same. - "This company is not concerned with customer satisfaction"… You think??? - "This company doesn't give two craps about customer service. If things go wrong they will screw you." - "The people I dealt with were not experts - certainly not in the art of customer relations."….same for me - " They will tell you; “Complex prescriptions can take longer than three weeks”....yep, I got that one as well even when I had the simplest prescription. - "and the worst insult of all, if you have a grievance and are persistent in your claims, they will take the childish approach of severing communications rather than seek an amicable solution." ... they actually took that approach with me in regards to a 20% discount sale. Once I accepted it, THEY never returned any of my emails. Talk about a complete waste of time and a total lack of professionalism…wouldn’t you all agree? - "they blame customers for their own mistakes"....yep, got that one as well. And so on and so forth. If you order something with them, be aware that if there are issues with your prescription or glasses, I guarantee you that they will attempt to pass on the blame to you. If you push it more, they will completely ignore you. This is the very first time I ever gave negative reviews online but trust me when I say, they deserve it! I will also send my story to the Federal government agency in charge of internet fraud with all copies of communication or lack of, copies from the lab report proving that they sent me the wrong prescription that could actually damage my sight. I’m sure I’m not the only one complaining to them so hopefully they will have their sites banned from Canada. Don’t trust what you read online in regards to great reviews as chances are, many came from them posing as clients. Look at many sites and the BBB in North America. The “Better Business Bureau” gave them an “F” which is the worst grade you can get from them. That alone should make you think twice before dealing with them. At the end of the day, if you have a problem, you didn't save anything at all as you will have to pay to have your glasses shipped back to them and if they refuse to do anything, then you will have to deal with another office to correct the original mistakes done by SelectSpecs. Think before you purchase from them. Paying a little more now could actually save you money, time and a lot of frustration. By the way, if you think posting a review on Trustpilot.com, think again as they take monthly fees from corporations and those paying clearly can have any negative review removed. That is why SelectSpecs has such a positive note while on other sites, they get hammered.

I ordered some sunglasses last year, my prescription was supplied incorrect from my optician so I had to resubmit to Selectspecs. This I did within 2 days then waited 6 weeks. I contacted them and they had not processed the order, no explanation or apology. I finally got the sunglasses which were good quality an as ordered. This year I decided to give them a second chance and ordered my normal glasses. I was told they were out of stock (by email) and asked what I wanted to do. I emailed back and requested a refund, this was ignored, as was the second email I sent. I then rang them and they told me the person who deals with refunds was off sick but they would send them an email which would be picked up later. I asked for the persons name and was then told there were several in that department. I have now had an email saying the order has been cancelled, still waiting for refund.

Tried a pair of mans varifocals.Just could not get used to them in spite of protracted trial.Selectspecs offered to exchange them for bi-focal lenses free of charge! Result is a very happy customer!!

Did not have a good service from these guys, although their trust-pilot account says different. The glasses I ordered (and paid for) were out of stock and I was not notified! Even after thoroughly checking my email inbox and all spam and subfolders, no message was found. This made my estimated delivery time fall into days I was abroad, making the purchase pointless. Cancelled the order, will take my business elsewhere in future.
