Laser eye surgery is something I had wanted for many years as I’ve always had very poor vision and hated wearing my glasses and contact lenses. Wearing my lenses all day left me with sore dry eyes every night which I had to put up with as I never wanted to wear my glasses when I was out with my friends socialising. I felt nervous after booking my surgery but on the day the nerves turned to excitement as I couldn’t wait to have it done so I could throw away my old glasses! The surgeon and technicians really put me at ease and after seeing people leave their surgery’s smiling I knew I would be Ok. The treatment itself was not painful at all, just a little uncomfortable as I didn’t know what to expect. The surgeon kept chatting away to me which made the minutes fly past and I couldn’t believe how fast it was all over. When I sat up I could see straight away, it was a little fuzzy like I was walking through fog but that cleared in a few hours and my vision was perfect. This was confirmed at my post op appointment the next day when I was told I had better than 20/20 vision, I was delighted. A month later and I still reach for my glasses first thing in the morning!
