“Unaffordable price”

I went for the laser eye surgery consultation today at optical express Brighton office. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. However, the quote was quite a shock. With LASIK, ACV and IFS method and my high eyesight prescription ( right eye: sphere -10.75, Cyl -0.5; left eye: sphere -9.5, Cyl -0.75), the quote on right eye was £2095, and left eye was £1995, that's total £4090. I got a referal £300 discount, but it's still £3790. That's a lot more than what I expected which was around £2500 for IFS treatment for high prescriptions. I have tried to get better deal, but no success in the Brighton shop, maybe my haggling skill isn't good.

I have been wearing glasses and contact lenses for about 25 years, really want to throw them away & enjoy my life more. Despite I am qualified for the 10 months interest free finance option, £3790 is still a lot money, especially I have not heard anyone paid so much for a laser surgery. If you have as high/higher eyesight prescription as mine, if you would please let me know what treatment method you chose and how much you paid for, I would very much appreciate it.

I went to OE, Milton Keynes yesterday for my Free consultation and was quoted £2781 for standard laser surgery and £3890 for the more superior (this is after 10% discount deducted) which I too thought was rather expensive. My prescription is Sphere -6.50 Cyl -1.75 Right Eye with Astigmatism and Sphere -6.50 Cyl -0.50 Left Eye. I am still undecided and need to 'shop' around to see if prices change drastically!
