I recently had an eye test in a Boots branch (Castle Mall) in Norwich which went as you would normally expect.

Some time later I took my test results to a Boots branch (Gentleman's Walk)in Norwich.

I was assisted to choose the most expensive version of varifocal lenses on the understanding that if I did not like them that a full refund would be made. The glasses were finally ready to be picked up 3 weeks later.

The lenses did not work well for me and I returned to the store where the staff bent and distorted my frames in an attempt to make the lenses work for me. I requested the promised refund as the lenses were still not appropriate.

I was told that I would need to see the optician for a further eye test before a refund could be agreed (this was not mentioned at the point of sale). I undertook the further tests and the optician was almost aggressive in her demeanour.

Single vision lenses were then agreed and a further wait of a week was required.

Upon collection and a short walk it became obvious that the new lenses had been poorly prepared and did not fit the frame properly, there are gaps between the frame and the lenses, the lenses are a very poor fit.

I now have another wait as I wait for the lenses to be remade and fitted correctly.

I am NOT happy.
