WAE of Birmingham shows all the signs of operating some sort of scam. They take an enormous time to answer telephone complaints (they claim an average of 2 minutes – more like 20). When they fail to meet their (ludicrously long) delivery times they plead extenuating circumstances, whilst enjoying the pleasure of your earlier payment. When you ask for an immediate refund they have a standard patter: “I’m sorry to hear that, I will Email for a refund”. When you ask “Will my credit card account be credited within 48 hours” they say “I didn’t say I was issuing a refund, just that I was Emailing somebody to ask for one”. When asked “Who is this person you are Emailing” there is no answer. When I explained my intention to contact police, trading standards and the credit card company the response was “We haven’t done anything illegal, we are a legit company”.
I will update this site with my experiences, but in the meantime my advice is absolutely clear: I wouldn’t touch this company with a barge-pole! As one who has posted frequently observes – all the 5 star reviews come from Birmingham! The rest are as close to zero stars as the system will allow.
