Previously WAE+ Ltd and, prior to that WeAreElectricals Ltd both of which had the same practices and both of which liquidated after a year or so of trading owing many people money. Trading standards have apparently done nothing despite constant complaints since 2011. Aside from some support from the credit card companies, consumers seem to be left to their own devices with no protection from scammers like these. Maybe it's time for a change in the law.

Same as many who leave reviews. Ordered item on 30 September with delivery promised for 7th October. Did not arrive. Emailed them and was told that there was a bit of a problem with delivery it would be another 7-10 working days. Did not arrive. Emailed them and told that I could either continue to wait or have a refund. I asked for a refund on 28th September - no reply. They have stopped answering emails. How can they get away with what must be extreme incompetence or if they don't supply goods or a refund.

Same Story... Order goods. Took money immediately. Progressive delays delivery. Kind offer to cancel my order. Standard email (verbatim those quoted below) saying very sir we cannot give you your money back as our back will not allow us to make payments. I have politely suggested until they are in a position to buy stock (presumably why orders are being delayed) they may wish to consider ceasing taking customer's money. Now to the credit card company and the CAB.

I ordered a Netgear Switch on 07-Oct-13 with a delivery estimate of 11th-16th Oct-13, and Extak charged my credit card on the same day. The status of my order never changed from "Order Accepted" and despite numerous phone calls, where I was told the order was on time, nothing arrived. On 16-Oct-13 I cancelled the order and requested a refund as nothing had even been shipped and they could not provide a delivery date. After a week I had not received a refund so I contacted them again and received the response below. I have now had to file a dispute with my credit card company at their request, which is at best a strange request. Dear John XXXXXX We are contacting you in regards to your refund owed to you. Due to complications that have arisen with our previous payment merchant this has affected our ability to process your refund, we must unfortunately notify you that you will need to file a dispute with your bank for the transaction, as we are unable to complete the refund from our side. In many cases this should be straightforward and quick. Chargebacks are there to protect the consumer in situations where they are unable to receive their funds back via normal methods. We realise that this is asking more of you than is normally expected, and we can only apologise for this, and any inconvenience this may cause you. Should you have any issue regarding this, please let us know and we will see what we can do to try to help further. We regret that we are unable to refund your transaction and hope that your bank can assist you with a swift conclusion. --- Kind Regards Customer Service

I ordered. They didn't send. Gave me about 3 stories why they couldn't. I asked for a refund. They didn't give one. I chased it up. They said they processed it. I checked. They still didn't give one. I emailed/called - they send an email saying that they are currently unable to process a refund and to contact the bank. They also have a history of bankruptcy: http://www.theguardian.com/money/2013/sep/28/bankrupt-electrical-firm-wae-extak

Placed an order and then googled to see why delivery was so slow. Found this site and immediately phoned credit card company to cancel transaction and emailed Extak to be told money would be refunded within 7-10 working days. Waiting to see what happens.

I placed an order with Extak as they had the best price. Their quoted delivery was a few days longer as I believe goods are not shipped from within the UK. From the start, communication was abysmal. No order confirmation, unable to track order status online, virtually impossible to speak to customer services, emails ignored. My phone record shows I have tried to call Extak 19 times - most of the time I got placed in a queue for 20-30 minutes, then transferred to voice-mail which was full & would just cut me off. When I finally did speak to someone & establish my order was on the system, I discovered delivery was much longer than previously stated. I chose to cancel my order using the online form but Extak still took the money from my bank account the following day. I called them again & had to cancel the order again over the phone. I was told refunds took 7-10 working days. I called again a couple of days ago to enquire as to the whereabouts of my refund & was rather confusingly told that a 'system error' had resulted in my order being cancelled & that an automatic refund was issued within 1-3 working days of cancellation. Apparently I should already have received my refund by now - needless to say I haven't. I am hoping I can arrange a charge-back with my bank.

Like their previous company WAE+ these people are complete tricksters. I urge you not to even consider ordering from them, no matter how attractive the price may seem because they will either not have the item in stock despite what the site says or you will never recieve it. You will spend a good deal of time chasing your order and a refund, if you are very lucky you may receive your order or refund after approximately 25 e-mails and legal action and a lengthy time while they have your money sitting pretty in their account. You have been warned.

I ordered a very obscure £25 cable to update the firmware of an eight year old projector. It was a few pounds cheaper that from a well known mail order giant. Ordered 3/9/13, told to expect delivery 6/9/13. On 4/9/13 there were no orders showing on my account. I emailed them via the website and got a response that there had been a slight delay and I should expect delivery within five working days. On15/9/13 I emailed them again via their website saying I have no goods, where are they? and got a response that they couldn't find any order on my account and could I send them proof of payment. I then called them and got through to a girl who said the item had been despatched, but I hadn't got it, they would cancel this order, re-order the goods (which were now out of stock) and re-despatch, but she could not give a date. She then seemed to imply that the goods had never been despatched. She was unsure of the courier used. Basically she was very confused/misinformed. I cancelled the order and received a full refund on 3/10/13. I asked to speak to the Director, a Mr Roy, but he was unavailable for comment. Basically I ordered some goods and paid for them, I don't think they had them, and they ended up giving me a refund. If I had read the reviews on this site before I ordered, I would never have touched them. I am not saying they are dodgy or anything, just save yourself the hassle, spend an extra few quid, and order it from someone with a good reputation. I ended up ordering from the well known mail order giant for a few extra £ and the product arrived 3 days later.

Totally agree with the complaints on here, wish I'd read this page first. Do not give them your money. Ordered a TV on the 8th Oct off their website, which said "More than 10 available in stock". The fact is they take your money straight away then try to source the product - there is nothing held in their stock. For this alone they should be reported to trading standards. Then waited for promised delivery day (which I took off work), and day before get an email saying order is cancelled - no stock. Spent £5 on their premium phone line to see what was going on and was told some cocknbull story, and their website was still saying "More than 10 available in stock" - they said, oh yeah we have to update the website - absolute joke. Took another £5 phone call and several emails to demand my money back. this took them another 2 weeks before I got it. Emailed every 2nd day to beg them for it. Emailing the company director [email protected] didn't speed things up but did it anyway All up, do not waste your time and money. They have the nerve to show trust logos on their website and phoney reviews. They should be investigated by TS and shown on BBC Watchdog

Yep, all reviews of this so called company before May this year all mosltly good reviews, then after that all bad ( have a look ) So, they made their money and now running.
I ordered an item on 24th August, now the 29th September as I write this and still no refund. DO NOT BUY from this circus of a clown company. Do as I have, reported them and put them on Facebook, etc etc as to warn people about them. Maybe then the authorities will take action. !!!!
And Extak owners, if you read this, be warned, your gonna get hunted down. Have fun when you get caught, Me and many, many other people will be laughing when you do :-)

Firstly - I think you should have a negative star rating for this shambles of a Company1 I recently ordered a laptop from this company (as a present for my daughter's 16th birthday). The only reason for using this company was purely based on cost, and I made the schoolboy error of not reading these reviews beforehand predominantly because of the Google link. The laptop was "in stock" when ordering and showed a "UPS delivery date of 3-5 days". The next day when I reviewed the "order status" it had been extended to two weeks later (therefore missing my daughter's 16th birthday). I decided to try and contact Extak via several emails (to which they never replied) and after several telephone calls (charged at 13p per minute!) I eventually managed to speak to a company representative who confirmed that this laptop "had never been in stock- we need to order it from an overseas supplier, and will take another 2/3 weeks to deliver". I am not a legal expert but surely Extak are guilty of some form of misrepresentation? I have cancelled my order and await a refund (which I will be checking daily with my credit card company) and have reordered the laptop via Amazon- paying for next day delivery- I shall be invoicing Extak for this additional cost.

Well, what can I say, same situation, read my comments on this company. Oh and for information, did a search via their company number, came up with this , yep, this is where their at.........must be a big warehouse in a " FLAT ?? " lol
"Extak Limited was incorporated on 03 Jan 2012 and is located in West Midlands. The company's status is listed as "Live"and it currently has 2 directors. It was founded by [names removed]. Extak Limited does not have any child companies."
Hope this helps, I am not letting this company get away with ripping people off , go on , bombard them with junk mail, see how they like getting ripped off lol

Recently ordered a TV with them from their passable website listing the item as "in stock with over 10 available" .. Prices were good, so despite reading the negative reviews I ordered the TV. They immediately took the payment from my card and all went quiet for a while .. I called them and after several attempts at speaking to their customer services during which u wait in a queue only to get unceremoniously cut off or sent to a full voicemail after eventually reaching q position 1. They re-assured me everything was fine, loads of stock, shipping from 'somewhere' in Europe, but my order would definitely be fulfilled by the given date etc etc .. The last day of the expected delivery arrived and I called again .. this time there was a slightly pregnant pause before the guy informed me they actually don't have the item in stock. He then suggested I cancel the order, which I did. I'm now waiting for the refund. Generally companies will take a pre-authorisation on the card till the order is shipped, these guys don't. If you are going to risk buying from these people make sure you use a credit card so you can do a charge-back when inevitably your order fails to show. Unless you are a compulsive gambler and like very tight odds, plus you have loads or time to waste waiting for something that will 99% never arrive - DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE !!! (you have be warned - wished I had heeded previous warnings)

I bought a microwave product no. 66832. It was a present for a very elderly relative. When buying, the website stated 10 or more in sock of this item, as it still does, as that I write this. Specifically: More than 10 in stock. Order within 3 hours for an estimated delivery of Wednesday 18th. To an ordinary person his means, if you order today we have plenty in stock and it will arrive tomorrow. As soon as I pressed the buy key, it generated an order number and the next day delivery turned into an earlier delivery of 4 days later. It gives a delivery window of between 4 days and 8 days AFTER the date it stated BEFORE I pressed the key to buy the item. I rang them on the Monday on their 0845 ‘pay to call’; telephone number (1p to 13p per minute) - I suspect that as most people will be calling in office hours - it is more likely to be 13p than 1p) and after waiting about 10 minutes while the 0845 number clocked up charges spoke to a pleasant woman who put me on hold and I was then disconnected! I rang in again ad after paying for another 10 minutes I got through. I explained that: 1) In my opinion their website had misrepresented the situation that they had the item in stock for next day delivery but when I’d paid for it - this turned into a seven day delivery period - and that just is just a ‘indicative target’. 2) I explained it was for an elderly relative and even if they could not deliver in the 1 day their website promised – I would accept it if the item could be delivered in four working days - i.e. a Thursday, I’d bought it on the weekend and my telephone call was on a Monday morning. I was assured that they had 3 or 4 suppliers and that delivery would be carried out by close of play on the coming Thursday - i.e. in 4 working days. 3) I said that if they couldn’t guarantee this – then I’d like my money back – but they were 100% certain they said, that it would be delivered. They promised to e-mail me to confirm and provide a tracking number. Needless to say no e-mail, nor tracking number was sent and the goods did not arrive on the Thursday, or on the Friday. So not within five working days. I called on the Monday and spoke to the same woman who was unable to say why the goods hadn't arrived. She apologised more than once but I cannot help but feel this is purely a commercial approach. This is confirmed when one googles Extak - there are innumerable search results returned with similar issues to the ones I have set out above. In my view this company seem to be middlemen who take your money and then think about ordering the item after they have it. There is no problem with that approach as long as they are clear about one having to waiting an indeterminate time - the issue for me, and I use the word misrepresentation advisedly, is that they give buyers the impression that they have stock and can deliver the next day - AND that once you pay this is altered to their new delivery window. It doesn’t help the customer feel better when they have to pay richly for the privilege of telephoning to find out what happened. I e-mailed but got no reply. I had logged my e-mail when I bought but they claimed not to have it. They also said that the reason they didn’t e-mail me was because they’d forgotten to take a note of my e-mail address! They have lost me as a customer and since I had not had the good and now have no faith in what they promise, I asked for my money to be refunded yesterday. I was unsurprised to learn that giving you the money back takes them at least a week to process. I will see what that means and will be contacting my card issuer if I am not refunded.

Extak are operating from the same premises of WAE+ who have recently been ripping off all its customers and gone into administration, and now the administrators have sold the company to 2 of the WAE+ employees. Extak is the next company to rip you off before it goes into administration and they will then do the same and set up a new company to rip people off.

On the 02/09/13 I ordered a printer for £103 from EXTAK with a delivery date of the 04/09/13. Nothing received on the 4th so logged on only to see that the order is sitting at "order accepted" still. I have emailed 3 times, called 17 times, left 3 voice mail messages and still had no reply. Today is the 10/09/13 and still not been able to make any contact with them and still my order is at "order accepted. If you dont like flushing money down the loo to not buy anything from these people! Time to contact TS

Company linked with "We Are Electicals" and "WEA+" both companys never delivered and stole a LOT of money before going into administration. Extak will be no different. I can only warn you HIGHLY NOT to buy from these rogues unless you want to spend 6 months of your life chasing your money only ot be told they're going into admin. Luckily I had Payment Protection. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!

Wish I knew this before i ordered from these clowns. Wrote a review about my experience with them, phone calls not answered, e-mails never replied. Item out of stock, when they are supposed to have in stock. Unless you send an email from the " trusted site " logo on their web site and then they reply and say " sorry " lol. All in all I guess I will never see my money returned, was not a lot, but that NOT the point. Take heed STAY WELL CLEAR and if you do have problems, REPORT them, the more people report them then maybe they will be shut down, I HOPE, save a lot of grief for other buyers

I ordered an item from this so called company after looking at their web site and prices were good.Delivery supposed to be within 2 to 3 working days !! On web site and I quote, "Extak is a leading e-retailer committed to becoming the most reliable web store for both businesses and consumers on the web by offering a truly excellent shopping experience, fast delivery and outstanding customer service." Extak offers customers peace of mind online with super fast delivery and cutting-edge transportation twinned with Military grade security of your details. We own and operate thousands of sq.ft. of warehouse space in the UK." Total lies, all of it. Why? Well, for a start I ordered an item on the 24th August, then when order was paid for the delivery date changed to between 2nd and 4th September ! Item was in stock at time of ordering. So, I waited for my delivery. The 4th Sept. went by. I emailed them, no reply, tried to call them around 6 times on the 5th Sept. All I got was an automated reply, thankyou for calling, we will pass you onto one of our customer sales people. Then I get music and then after that, " Sorry the person you are trying to get is not available, please leave a message after the tone " Then , " sorry this persons mailbox is full, you cannot leave a message ". Now this happened every time I called. I gave up and tried again on the 6th Sept. After around another 10 calls I eventually got an answer from a " sales person ". Gave him my order number and waited around 5 mins listening to music till he found out what was happening. Answer I got was he didn't know what had happened and I would get my order delivered on 11th Sept !! I told him that their aftersales was terrible, why did I not get an e-mail, why did I get an answer machine. Ina word he said, " Sorry !! ", and would send a confirmation e-mail of my delivery date. I have now got that e-mail, but we will see if my order actually arrives. NOT holding my breath ! All in all aterrible company, DO NOT ORDER from them, don't even think about it or you may get stung badly. I have reported this company to the trading standards and think, if you, ,like me have had a bad experience you should do to ! If you look at the reviews, you will see a large amount of people have had the same unlucky experience as me. Oh !! also, I had a look on their web site tonight. MMM, look at what it says at the top of the main page , " 9th Sep 2013 @ 3PM - We are currently experiencing technical difficulties and may not be able to reply to calls or emails." Or is that put there because they don't want to reply and take your money and run ?? You have been warned !!

Me, that those this review, as I said I was expecting delivery on 11th September. So, today, 10th Sept I called them, a human answered eventually, gave order number only to be told my item was damaged and they didn't know when it would be back in stock, " We will refund your money ", no offer of a replacement item that may have done the job ( ethernet card ordered ). Asked why I did not receive an e-mail to let me know what was happening !! OOPS forgot, this company doesn't answer emails.
And I would never have known my item was never going to get to me unless i phoned.
Anyway, not expecting a refund anytime soon. SO, be warned. VERY VERY angry as how they

I made an order on 18/08/2013 which was advertised as 'In Stock'. After no goods arriving on 28/08/2013, I phoned and was asked to wait a further 3-5 working days as the supplier has caused a delay. Clearly this meant the goods were not 'In Stock'. On 04/09/2013, I requested a refund and was assured a refund would be made in 3-5 working days and a confirmation email sent. No such thing happened. I called Extak on 09/09/2013 and a rude man called Raj who refused to provide his full name and that of his manager hung up on me when he didn't like my tone, as I asked why the refund had not been made yet. Avoid this company like the plague, they are rude, dishonest, unprofessional and are very poor liars. They advertise goods they do not have and stall customers as long as possible, they also do not like to refund customers money when they fail to deliver.

I to, agree totally with this review, they have no idea how to run a business, no after sales, no , well, in a word " NOTHING " !! I ordered, was in stock, told not in stock after I had to phone them, And ,mmmm , went to web site, guess what, says they have more than 10 in stock lol, STAY WELL CLEAR. you have been warned. Sooner this so called company is shut down for Trading standard infringements the better. Do what I did complain about them, then get them off line .Here is hoping !!!!
