Rang the store on Thursday, looking to buy a new Les Paul. I got really friendly and professional advice and service, so ordered a Gibson Les Paul 60's Tribute with min-e-tune system. Guitar arrived on Monday, as promised, professionally set up and in immaculate condition. Really chuffed to bits with the guitar and the service I received. “AMAZING SHOP”

The BEST guitar shop i've ever visited ! Loads of guitars , amps , pedals etc. Attentive , but not pushy , staff . I went in to look at the basses but wasn't pounced upon by over eager sales people ( which is normally the case in other places ) , instead , a genuine greeting and offer of assistance ( IF i needed it ) . I asked if i could try a rather nice fender jazz and was immediately given a seat , plugged in and left to play . I did buy it and they even threw in a set of strings .... (read more)

“Hagstrom Ultra Swede”

Very, Very good service after having a some issues with original guitar. Replacement very quickly sourced and dispatched along with tech. info which was wrong from importers (Rosetti) but corrected by themselves. If it wasn't for wonderful help/service I would have returned guitar never to buy another Hagstrom as importer or manufacturer will not reply to any emails sent (but will talk to a dealer go figure) and QC from them seems to be pretty dire so make sure you have a very good dealer... “Would Never Go Elsewhere”

I bought my beloved Martin HD28 from Steve James, and its a purchase I have not regretted. I don't just mean the guitar (which speaks for itself) but the service, before during and after parting with the "hard earned". Visited this store a couple of times now with my daughter who is learning to play bass guitar. The staff were really friendly and allowed her to play some guitars that she can only dream of owning! She was talked through a selection of amps too and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to their helpful attitude we will return to purchase an amp and possibly a guitar before Christmas. Oh and her old dad has been inspired to dust off his old Ovation also...and I need an acoustic amp badly! (read more)

“Fantastic musical experience”

One of the best music shops in my local area! The guitars, among other instruments, which are for sale are all of high quality. The staff are friendly, polite and pleasant. The set out of the shop is unique and it gives it a 'homey' feel which adds to the ambiance of the store. Anytime i asked to try out a particular guitar it was taken down off of the wall (even sometimes hanging from the roof!) set up for me and I was left to my own bidding. I was a little wary about the factory seconds from tokai but i need not have worried...Apart from a couple of screws not being straight on the jack plate and a slightly bent trussrod cover, I have purchased a guitar that retails for £300, for only £105 inc delivery. Plays great out of the box and i cant believe how good it is. Trust in these guys and you wont go wrong..Well chuffed. (read more)

Had a devil of a time with the nut on my Telecaster after I changed it to allow me to use heavier 56 gauge strings but the boys in the store on Sunday 15th July put things right in just a few minutes and now all is well again. “A Dealer is a Dealer”

The guys at North East Guitar have bent over backwards to make sure I am a satisfied customer and I am. They're service is excellent and the staff are all knowledgeable. I had a problem with the order through damage in transit and it was rectified without a problem. While the quality of the goods are not under their control the customer care is and for that reason, I definitely will deal with them again. OK I only popped in for a set of strings but the place has one of those vibes where you don't feel like your in the way and can chat to the knowledgeable staff without them giving you the feeling that you're taking up their precious time or talking to you as if you know nothing. Just bought a Hagstrom Select Ultra Swede from these guys. Wanted VSB but when they opened the box it was L/H. Bummer. However after 'non-pink' photos were exchanged I took a Nordic Blonde (not Dolph Lundgren!). They threw in a Hag Bag for the error and it all came the next day. Great looking, plays like a dream. I've had Fenders and Gibsons in the past, for the price this is soo much better than either. Forget copy guitars buy a well made and designed original. Try a Hag!! (read more)

I ordered via telephone, to ask if they could match the cheapest price I could find for a Hagstrom Ultra Swede electric guitar. The cheapest was Thomann UK cyberstore, and they did indeed match it! Monday recived a futher 2 e mails 1 thankiing me for my order and the other with tracking details from UPS. Checked out the shipping details and it was in correct I e mailed NEG at 20.35 and got a reply at 21.05 telling me not to worry the shipping address had already been changed. “2012 American Standard Fender Stratocaster in Olympic...”

Sounds fanstastic as you would expect. The neck, body, and metal parts are absolutely solid and to a very high quality. There's a big difference (i.e. improvement)in feel, tone, and playability on this guitar compared to my old Ibanez Roadstar - itself not a bad guitar. The only minor criticism I have is that the plastic parts (e.g. lump on the end of the tremolo arm, volume and tone knobs) are not quite such high quality - lumps of flash on them etc. That's no big deal but I was surprised. I ordered my item on Sunday 27th May on the internet, I recived my order details and tracking e mail on Mon 28th noticed that the shipping details where incorrect, I emailed NGA at 20.35 explaing the mistake and i got a reply at 20.49 from Anthony explaining he had already corrected the mistake how is that for customer service. He was able to match the price of the models I was after compared to much bigger stores. I was able to take my time trying the different models I was interseted in, with no sales pitching or pressure, which made the whole experience exciting and a pleasure. It is nice to have a music shop in middlesbrough where you can buy spares ( ie bone saddles, nuts, etc) as well as the normal strings. The staff he has working there are a nice bunch of lads, who know their stuff, nothing is to much trouble. (read more)

It pleases me greatly that there is still a real guitar shop in Middlesbrough where you can not only find any guitar or guitar related product, but also receive a first class customer service. Staff are ALWAYS friendly and ready to offer impartial advice. This is my local guitar shop and I have bought many items from this shop I go in every now and then just to browse the staff are really helpful and are always there to help. There is always a wide range of guitars basses and amps so you can spend hours in there just looking at the different guitars. The staff will always go to the best price and if they find it cheaper online they will drop the price a bit. Overall my favorite guitar shop in the local area I would defiantly recommend it. It might only be a small shop but theres plenty packed into it, Electric, acoustic and bass guitars, plus banjos and ukes. superb friendly service from people that know what they're talking about. Sold a guitar there and they happily matched the price i'd been offered elsewhere. would recommend to anyone from those that are just starting out to the pros, no-one talks down to you which is so much nicer than some of the larger guitar stores where no one wants to even know you're there.... Not only is this the best guitar store in the northeast, but it's the best I have ever been to period!! Not only do they have great stock, but extremely friendly and helpful guys who really know their onions!! I have had plenty of repair work done to my axes and always to the highest standard!
