“Duel Sim Case - Could not get to work”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ElizabethFloyd48 on 26/07/2018

The first duel sim case did not work at all when it arrived, customer service is slow, they wanted photos to show it did not work????? Finally agreed to replace but only after i provided a tracking number to prove I had returned the item, even then they did not dispatch a replacement until it had arrived back. The second unit did at least switch and it did finally connect to bluetooth after several attempts, switching the unit on and off, switching bluetooth on and off and rebooting the phone several times, when it did connect it drained the phone battery in half a day. Now the unit will not connect at all, IOS gives a message that the device is not compatable and bluetooth connection always fails, have yet to be able to make or receive a call. Have asked to return the item but so far no reply to my emails, they also have not refunded the cost of the tracked postage for the first faulty item, I have requested this but so far they have ignored.

As an update this company would not refund my return postage for two faulty items so I am out of pocket by about £14, I wonderr if small claims court could sort this out.

We have purchased the website the 1st Dec. 2018. The new management changed the return policy drastically. With the 1 year guarantee period a product can always be returned & resend.

Although each Magicsim Elite adapter is tested manually, a faulty adapter is always possible. As the installation needs to be done with care, sometimes it is the customers fault. But even then the adapter can always be returned.

We have return addresses in 12 Mayor countries. Upon receipt of the adapter in the warranty period, we will sent a new one. Within 14 days we do not hesitate to refund the purchase-amount.

Wow, over 12 months to respond, is that a record?
Never did get the postage refunded so still out of pocket for being sent faulty items.
And for the record, installation was done with care.

Hi Graham,

When we took over the new website, our priority was not these review websites.

In the website system I can see the GoodTalk Case you bought from Logicsim Ltd. As we - the new company Ivano Phone Accessories - did not receive the purchase amount we unfortunately can not refund you this. As the sale of the Case is not continued we cannot send you a new case either.

We can provide you with products with the same value tough, with free shipping. We'll contact you via email.

Kind regards, MagicsimSupport

“Terrible company with low quality items”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Jazmine435 on 01/02/2018

Purchased one of the S8+ dual sim adapters from the company directly, website said the item came with instructions but it actually came with a manual - when it arrived, it came with a piece of paper that said the manual could be downloaded from their site. After looking, the manuals on their site were fairly generic based on the "design" concept of the adapter not the actual phone so you had to do a lot of self interpretation. Long story short, there was zero info on getting the sim adapter to work with an internal micro SD card - contacted the company and received no reply after 7 days so opened a dispute via paypal. They replied straight away, no hello, please, thank you from this lot in any of the responses. It went on for 3 weeks, they told, word for word "I don't know what you are doing wrong, but it should work, you must be doing it wrong" - after I provided them with pictures of the item. Long story short, it's chinese rubbish that's mass produced and sold by a group of people in the UK who don't know how they work and frankly don't care - you can buy cheaper alternatives off ebay which are more reliable. Avoid them at all cost. Oh for reference, in the end - I had to escelate the dispute as I returned the item (at their suggestsion), they received it but decided to ignore me after that so PayPal decided in my favour and refunded my money.

“Magic Sim Dual Adapter ”

Worst purchase experience of my life. First time it did not arrive, the product had to be resent. When it finally arrived second time around it was nearly a month later. The product was faulty, absolutely useless, the company suggested it was something to do with my end. They have finally have agreed to a refund after claiming through PayPal but will not refund the return postage and because the postage is nearly half the price of buying the product, makes the refund worthless. DO NOT BUY, TERRIBLE PRODUCT, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN! I would have liked to have known how bad the company were before buying.

“No answer from Customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Danao on 17/06/2017

I just posted this comment on their FB wall page: I bought a MagicSIM for iPhone 6 last September, it does not work anymore (since a few months actually) : 3 emails sent to the contact and support teams + 1 private message on FB since the 7th of June 2017 : no answer even though I receive automated messages saying that I should get an answer between 6h up to 24h (email), or FB displaying "typically replies within a day". I thought that the company died but I can see recent reviews on Amazon :) It is a very disrespectful behavior that you have toward your customers. So I would just say, I do not recommend anyone to buy MagicSIM.

The comment I posted on FB has been deleted... How can you trust companies that delete negative comment after ignoring their customer ??

I will never order again there, and better I found the same kind of product for less than 2 euros... Come on.

Kilganey's Response to Danao's Review

Written on: 30/06/2017

Hi,
I could not agree with you more. I purchased a Sim Adapter for an IPhone 6 plus on May the 22nd 2017. However after several installation attempts and several robotic like email messages to and fro with MagicSim, the adaptor was still not recognised by my phone. They also said that the installation problem may be due to one or more of my Sim Cards been too old for the adapter. I then switched to a brand new sim card for the adapter, but that appeared to make no difference.
It was then agreed by MagicSim that the item appeared to be faulty and that I return it to them for a replacement . Howevever before they would send a replacement I was asked to provide a tracking return reference No. or a photograph of the stamped addressed envelope which I was sending to them.
I sent them a photo of the returns envelope and they did send a replacement to me.
However the saga begins again. Following several more installation attempts with this replacement sim adapter, my phone was still showing no sim installed.
I then sent MagicSim another email explaining the situation once again. I advised them that I considered this replacement adapter was again faulty or not suitable for this iPhone 6 plus. I also requested an immediate refund for the purchase transaction including postage charges incurred by myself.

They replied requesting me to send the item back for a refund. I posted the item back to them on the 9th of June 2017 for a refund. I then chased this up on the 19th of June, when they informed me the item had not been received by them.
I replied to that email stating that the item must have got lost in transit and I again requested that the refund be processed.
They replied stating that they could not process a refund due to the item not been received by them. they advised that I should deal with Royal Mail for a compensation claim.
I then decided to speak to Paypal as I had used their payment method for the purchase transaction. They opened a dispute Case on Tuesday the 27th of June 2017. They requested some further details yesterday 29th June 2017. I emailed Paypal some further info similar to what I have detailed in this comment.
I have had a reply from Paypal this morning advising that they had decided in my favour and due to the unique circumstances of the case ,they are refunding me at no cost to the seller. Seems like Paypal don't want to upset MagicSim for obvious business reasons.
Like your experience I found MagicSim Customer Services to be very robotic like in their customer service interaction. They appear quite evasive when asked questions and having no contact telephone number for queries does not help at all. All is ok if a buyer does not have problems or ask for a refund. If either of these apply, then its a different matter.
In summary from my experience I would not recommend MagicSim to any potential buyer.

“Samsung Note 2 SCH-I605”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 05/12/2015

This product does not work on phones in the US with the Verizon network. I had to email them a couple of times to get a replay and a return address. Found out it is too much money to return, so I started a dispute on Paypal, considering all the reviews for not working are the same. I highly doubt this was ever even tested on the same phone as I have. I sure am glad I bought it with paypal. BTW, you can find these on Ebay for $6 US and free shipping.

“MagicSIM Elite WILL NOT WORK IN MY iPHONE 5 !!!!!!!!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Millerhimes on 22/11/2015

This should be a warning for all USA customers buying a MagicSIM Dual Sim Adapter... After struggling to get the MagicSIM Elite to work I send it back to seller at my own expense, received a replacement that also did not work, similar as the first one, the seller instructed me to send it back, once again at my own expense. I sent it back and did not hear from them for several weeks. When I was finally able to reach them they said it never arrived. I provided a officially stamped customs receipt but was refused a refund so I'm now out the original cost of the sim adapter and return shipping (twice). Very very POOR customer service. DO YOUR RESEARCH before purchasing from this company. I would say they have excellent customer service, as long as they don't have to refund your money and you keep paying to return defective items. I filed a claim with PayPal, they found cause to return payment in my favor and I will be refunded my original payment. Unfortunately, I will not be refunded the money paid to return the two defective Sim Adapters.

I fully agree with this commenter. I was stupid enough to buy 2 MagicSim adapters for my S4 and S5 which neither worked. Emails to company didn't work and I did talk once to a person but he was no help. Anyway great website, fast shipping, they just didn't work...

“Cracked case after 2 months - No Customer Service response”

★☆☆☆☆

written by nristead on 26/09/2014

Bought one of these for my Samsung Galaxy S5, and initially was very happy with it. However, after 2 months, I noticed that my original S5 case had cracked, exactly where the extra SIM card sits. I'd already decided that I wanted a Wireless Charging case, and bought one (from Samsung) to replace it - only to find that the case would not close at all with the MagicSim adapter installed. It seems to be impossible to find a Phone number for MagicSim customer support (strange for a company specialising in Phone accessories!), and despite contacting them via their website, and  sending *three* emails requesting a refund and even posting on the MagicSim Facebook page, I got no response whatsoever. I was eventually able to obtain a refund direct from PayPal.

“iPhone 5 - DOES NOT FIT IPHONE 5/5S”

★☆☆☆☆

written by miksmitty on 10/12/2013

The MagicSim Elite product does not work if you are buying for an iPhone 5 or 5S. I have tried two of these devices and in each case the flimsy ribbon cable breaks as soon as you try to re-insert the sim tray with the ribbon cable protruding. There simply is no gap between the iPhone case and the SIM tray to allow the ribbon cable to pass. Emailed the company requesting a refund and have had no response at all. You have been warned.

I agree. I have just received my magic sim for s4 mini...the position of the corner cut on the micro end clearly demonstrates even before I try, that it it is impossible to fit the adapter correctly into the phone's sim tray.

Will Magic Sim work with T-Mobile carrier in the US? I am planning to get my own Samsung S5 then asking T-Mobile to give me 2 different phone numbers on my one phone. One number for personal and one just for business. Thanks

In theory it should work for any carrier. You would need to get the second SIM as a normal-sized one. However, I've had a bad experience with Magic Sim. The second SIM card barely fits within the standard Samsung case, and causes a noticeable bulge, which on my phone caused a crack in the case after a couple of months. 3 Emails to Magic-Sim got no response whatsoever, and eventually I had to contact PayPal for a refund. The second SIM will not fit at all inside the Samsung Wireless Charging case. While it worked, it was a good product - but don't expect to get any Customer Service at all if things go wrong and you want a refund.

It will work. At least that is what I experienced once or twice. That's all it was after that the sim (also the replaced once )did not work at all. You are warned.

Didn't work that way for me. You choose which SIM you want to be active. There is an option, I think, where the phone will switch from one SIM the other every few seconds (presumably not during a call) - which is good if you expect to get Text Messages on both numbers - but if you receive a call on the "inactive" SIM, it would go to Voicemail.

It's better you forget about Magic sim. Its difficult to insert in these mobiles. I received two of them one after another and both of them did not work. One worked only for one day. They won't reply to your mail. And you won't get your money back. You can read other reviews.
