“Awful cold aftercare service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JavierMorris242 on 25/12/2015

Had a vehicle for 10 months, paying £245 a month plus £25 for warranty (which was sold as peace of mind)
60 plate Insignia.
95k on the clock when purchased but before collection was told that mechanics prepping the vehicle for collection.
Not being a car person I wasn't aware of water pump change needed.
Driving to work last Wednesday the water pump failed, causing the car to overheat and shredding the cambelt.
Having spoke to the branch where the vehicle was purchased they instructed me to have the vehicle towed to a garage that was on the Good garage scheme.
It was towed to a garage a mile away in Blackburn which has excellent reviews online and who's staff have been incredibly helpful (Bay Horse Autos)
I had to then liase with a guy who works in the Stoke office and his part of the after care team (I use the term care very loosely)
To cut along story short, the garage diagnosed the car needing £940 worth of work, Fowlers warranty refused to pay that much, said they will do the work themselves, and will be leaving me without a car for the foreseeable future as the have no courtesy cars available, can't get my car collected until the new year and can't promise how long it will take to fix (garage quoted me 2 days work)
the person I dealt with  from Manchester is a decent bloke but the rest an absolute waste of time.
I'd seriously avoid this company and I will be looking at ways of getting out of this contract and returning their vehicle.

Hello, first of all I am sorry to hear you have been having issues with your vehicle. The reason the garage quoted £940 worth of work was because a lot of that money would have been used to buy the parts in. We can get the parts a lot cheaper at trade prices and we offered to pay for the parts and get them shipped to the garage and just pay the garage to do the repairs. The garage declined this proposal as some garages do, so we bought the car back and repaired it ourselves. Hopefully you are back on the road now, although if there is anything I can further assist you with, please do not hesitate to e-mail me and I will be happy to help. Thanks, Danny.
