I ordered some tomato plants. They arrived looking as if they had been thrown into a box with some loose compost and empty pots. They were broken and damaged beyond ever being recoverable. I emailed Thompson and Morgan and asked for a replacement or my money back. I received a standard reply saying they were taking longer than usual to reply,they were sorry about this but would reply as soon as possible. I waited two weeks and emailed again, I received the same reply.
It is now over a month since I first emailed and I still have had no reply. I have bought previously from this company and have thought they were ok. I can only assume that this was because nothing went wrong with either the order or delivery and I had no need to contact customer services.
I am buying my replacement tomatoes elsewhere as by the time I receive a reply from Thompson and Morgan (if ever) I think I will have missed a lot of the growing season. I am also cancelling the other orders that I have with them.
Very poor plants and packaging, who on earth would put five tomato plants in a box without fastening the pots to the box and putting each in a plastic bag so the plant and compost did not fall out. Terrible and disappointing plants and even worse customer service. They have lost me as a customer and I suspect many other customer who ordered the same tomatoes.
