Recently ordered a ride on mower from ridemow.co.uk - paid online by credit card.
A couple of days later, we got an email stating that because they were changing their systems, they could not accept payments by credit or debit cards and thay we had to pay them by BACS which we did. The money was duly taken from our account (1199.00).
We went online to check the progress of our order, only to find that they claim that we did not order anything.
After making many phone calls which are met with an answering machine message claiming that all their operators are busy, and to leave a message and they will call you back - they never do.
Numerous emails remain unanswered - at this point we thought we had been conned.
Too late, we found this site and the complaints about a company run at the same address (tubfurniturestore) who are doing exactly the same.
The last email we sent them telling them we would expose them in the media did get a respone claiming they were not a fraudulent company even though we had not accused them of being so, they have have offered a refund but that has not been made so far.
Our bank have advised us to contact Lloyds bank to see if they will investigate their customer but we are currently having issues with their online form.
We will keep you informed of any progress.

I'm sorry to hear of your problems and I hope you manage to get your money back. I work for a lawnmower manufacturer and their prices are too low to be realistic. I have contacted Google about this company as the site looks obviously fraudulent unfortunately Google is still running their adverts. Buyers beware.

Hi Porttack,
How we wish we knew about you before we paid for the mower from Ridemow.
We've sent them a registered letter informing them that we intend to initiate court proceedings against them.
They've not replied to our emails or sent our money back as yet.

Hi
All I can suggest is to keep pushing for the refund.
I would also contact the police and action fraud to report the fraud.
Good luck, I hope you get your money back.

No joy yet, but County Durham Trading Standards and County Durham police are working on this as well.

We had exactly the same thing happened regarding the credit card issue that they were having problems and would we send them the money via BACs. A woman rang my husband's number, as he was their contact, and because I (his wife) missed her call from a mobile number. I rung them back and got a mumble on the end of the line and I asked her to repeat who it was, and still couldn't understand her and eventually I said was she after my husband concerning the Ride On Mower. I said that I could do the transaction as we were joint account holders and it didn't matter whose name the Ride On was in. She insisted that she would send my husband an email with the details to send the money via BACS. I then emailed my husband who sent back the details they had only just sent him. Something didn't fit! I googled the site from where they were operating and it is within a Marina based shop which thought was odd!! I waited until my husband came home that evening and said I was suspicious as it was a lot of money for very little information apart from an advert online!!! It has now been 5 days since this was ordered and not once have I been contacted regarding that we didn't complete on our order. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE WHOEVER THEY ARE.

I have been posting on the tubfurniturestore thread. I took the time several weeks ago to fill in Lloyd's form online. they have yet to contact me! done all the same things as you....sorry to say that it has yet to get any result. The latest thing I did was to make a report to BBC watchdog. goodluck. Also they have 2 other sites on top of these 2. Chairland.co.uk and now renamed to tubfurniture shop!

Thanks soo much for writing this review. I have recently had a very similar problem with a site called Gardeners World and did not want to get conned again - hence looked for customer reviews before placing order. Needless to say I will not be purchasing the ride on mower from them - Thank You :)

I'm just glad we've stopped someone else being tricked by these people.
My bank have been informed about these people and are going to speak with the fraud department of Lloyd's bank (the bank that ridemow use) so hopefully we have a good outcome.

Further update - Hampshire Trading standards are nor talking with County Durham Trading standards as they are investigating a number of companies operated by the same people.
Will post further updates when available.

my wife ordered a mower from them and we also wanted to pay by card but they said the same thing, changes to their payment system meant i needed to do a bank transfer.
she then was a bit suspicious and saw your site and we have now decided to not go ahead after reading your comments.
sorry you have all had trouble but at least it has stopped us from being ripped off by them.
