An excellent company to know of if you need hardwood moulding for cabinet making or repair work, which was the case for me (repairing a vintage table), and good to know that if they don't have the particular item you need off the shelf, they can often produce it bespoke. Ordered 100 25mm wood dowelling 2.4m lengths. Every single length was perfect, no cracks or big chunks missing. Better than my local woodyard who were not interested in quality. I use these to make children’s A Frame play tents so the finish and strength of the dowelling is paramount. No more filling and sanding. I received my ash pole by delivery, the service was very quick with no fuss. Ordered on line. Good price and the pole itself is perfect, lovely grain, sanded to perfection. Ordered a hamlet 3/4 oval skew and im thrilled to bits,,ive not been turning long but have already produced a couple of bowls and other things, i really cant rave about hamlet tools enough, being a joiner for over 20 years ive seen some great tools, the finish on them is flawless and they keep an edge good too, G&S Delivered very quick and the chisel was packaged really good.

this seems like a good service company,the two pieces of limewood I ordered were excellent quality.The delivery time was as stated (4-5 days)which was fine for me but not for most people.rapid delivery at reasonable cost is king to growing internet sales,that being said I shall now carve these two excellent pieces of timber into scrap and then order some more from G&S.

I was after a oak beam with a shelf, and wanted it to look rustic. I was really impressed with the quality of the work, the communication (pictures were sent to me, I was kept abreast of developments) and the advice, which I needed as I am not someone who works with wood at all. So now we have a gorgeous piece of crafted wood, which will proudly sit in our home. I've never used the firm before, so wasn't familiar with them at all. We went to the workshop, where we were able to see some of the wood they have turned - all quite amazing. It is evident that there is a much higher level of service when using a family-run firm, and I'll do it again.
