I usually buy from Crocus when I want some very specific quality plants and am prepared to spend a bit more than usual. I have bought lovely garden pots from them in the past as well, and received excellent Customer Service with notification of delivery dates. Not this year though. What has happened to Crocus?
I had to chase up on the order to get it delivered, and Customer Services were in fact very helpful and refunded on two plants without question, although I sent photos of the pathetic and unsightly condition of them. I couldn't believe they could send out what were quite mature plants with torn, broken or chewed leaves and thick main stems just cut off mid-flow, so to speak. I could only imagine that these two plants had been in shows, had had blooms and had just had the thickened stems cut when the blooms were over to sell on but at full price, so they looked ugly and were past their best. They are not good enough to plant in my flower border yet. How anyone could have packed these plants to send out and sell as plants in "tip top condition", I find beyond belief. Maybe Crocus is resting on the laurels of its name a bit too much. Up until now, I have always recommended them to friends, but since this order I have changed my mind. I have bought IMMACULATE plants from individuals off EBAY and plant specific nurseries this year which have arrived through the post in beautiful condition. So now, maybe I will recommend shopping around off EBAY or directly from plant specific Nurseries who sell online.

Just to add to this review, the Verbascum 'Blue Lagoon" is not dead: it didn't stand a chance. I bought is now dead. No-one in the upper echelons of this Company can tell me why inferior plants were sent out in the first place.
