If you have a Swallow (GB) Ltd Rook Potting Shed with optional guttering fitted, check out its ability to collect and remove rainwater. I purchased a new Rook Potting Shed from Bourne Buildings, Farnham, Surrey, but within days, during moderate rainfall, water spilled over the rear edge of the guttering and down over the rear wooden wall panels. Swallow have investigated but now say there is no problem with the design. However, they visited site three times, each time adjusting or experimenting with a different solution. Despite Swallow seeing the problem for themselves, they have now walked away from the situation having provided a very untidy and unsatisfactory temporary solution. Pictures can be provided. Why put this amount of effort into solving a problem that does not exist!! I can only conclude, as far as Rain Water Removal is concerned, the standard Rook production models are ‘not fit for purpose’. If you have the same model of Potting Shed from Swallow (GB) Ltd, then presumably, the same problem exists. You will also need Swallow (GB) Ltd to come up with a fix. We just need our Supplier (Swallow (GB) Ltd) to act responsibly and design or engineer a proper long term remedy, for the benefit of ALL.

Visited Bourne Buildings when garden centres were opening up during the relaxation of Lockdown. The measures in place were excellent. They have a fantastic range of buildings already erected and fitted and in different finishes. The staff were very helpful and we placed an order with them for a Greenhouse to be supplied and fitted. The greenhouse supplier was late in delivery but this did not matter and gave us a bit of extra time to ensure everything was correct prior to the installer arriving. Their recommended installer did a wonderful job and asked us where we wanted and provided advice on the location of the vents etc. He saved us a lot of effort in the installation, if we had carried out the installation I was concerned about getting it right, although I did do the groundworks - excavation, edging, hardcore, plastic mesh infilled with gravel. As we had supplied and installed a plastic 10mm gravel filled base on hardcore we were able to install the cut to size paving slabs bedded in quick drying mortar when the installer had constructed the integral greenhouse base and in the locations he wanted the slabs for his fixings and to withstand wind loads. We did not delay the installer's work/progress. No mess was left upon completion of the installation and any useful spares and he manuals were left. We would recommend visiting Bourne Buildings Showground at prior to making any decisions. Their advice, after sales service and their greenhouse installer was superb.

Ordered a 8x6 foot shed, over the phone from Bourne Buildings. I rang them because their website is so antiquated that it does not contain prices. Because I was in a rush I placed the order over the phone there and then, thinking I would be dealing with a trustworthy, reputable firm. Having laid the concrete base to that size, when it arrived I found that it was actually 5'9"x7'9" - exactly 3 inches short in both measurements. When I discussed this with them, I was told, initially that the discrepancy was because sheds were marketed in imperial, but wood comes in metric (that doesn't explain why it was exactly 3 inches short in both dimensions!), and I quote, that 'I had made incorrect assumptions about this' - I ordered a 8'x6' shed, nothing else assumed! I was finally told that if I wasn't happy they would come and take it back, after I'd had to put the thing up, of course. The only good thing I can say about this transaction was that the delivery chaps were nice and helpful. All in all, I would not recommend buying a £500 shed from them, god forbid anything more expensive. This situation could have been resolved so easily but their resolute refusal to take any responsibility left a nasty bad taste. If you're thinking about buying from them then spare yourself, don't bother!

Bought two lovely old stone pots for the garden and we are really pleased with them. There was a huge selection at Bourne to choose from - both new and old in greyer tones as well as creamier tones. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and carried the pots to the car for me even though I probably could have managed. The office staff were also very helpful. Thank you Bourne Buildings! We will certainly come back again when we need more pots.

I am thrilled with my new greenhouse. It arrived at the time expected, was swiftly erected and I was able to start using it the same day. It looks great and enhances my garden and I am looking forward many happy pottering days to come this winter. Thank you Bourne Buildings.

Fantastic service from beginning to end. Not knowing what we really wanted when we arrived the staff couldn't have been more helpful in finding the right shed to use as a day time retreat for some canine lodgers & later to become a craft workshop. The assembly team arrived on the arranged date & completed the work efficiently, quickly & with good humour considering the torrential rain they were working in. I would certainly recommend Bourne Buildings as the place to go if in doubt about which shed to select!

The whole experience of buying a shed was excellent there was no pressure to buy the most expensive shed.Knowledge and explanation of products I couldn't fault.Staff were extremely efficient and very helpful from buying to having the base laid and the assembly.Everyone was very polite and efficient. Would highly recommend them to anyone.

I purchased a table and chairs for my balcony, with a natural stone tile top, which are still going strong after 6 years. Have also been back for a few stone ornaments as well of which they have an amazing selection at the showsite. Always polite and helpful so can highly recommend. If I ever need a shed I will go to them as well because I have never seen so many before in all my life!

I needed to replace the top detailing - platform and acorns - of an old summerhouse supplied by Bourne many years ago. They could not have been more helpful and even managed to get the correct size which was no longer in general production from the manufacturer because of the good relationship they enjoy with them. I am delighted to say that I enjoyed good, old fashioned friendly service from the team there and wont hesitate to recommend the company to my friends and colleagues.

The door of my £800 Vitavia greenhouse fell off a few months after I bought it - phoned Bourne Buildings but they didn't want to know. Argued with me for ages on the phone saying it was not their problem. Blamed me for not putting it together properly (incredibly patronising since the faulty part was literally just a nut and bolt!) then finally insisted I contact the manufacturer to get them to send out a spare part. Shockingly poor.

Bourne Buildings in Farnham have a fantastic stock of very competitively priced garden buildings and much else besides. They are very courteous and efficient and I cannot praise them enough. The two gentlemen who erected our new greenhouse for us were superb.

Bourne Buildings have been very helpful and knowledgable in advising us when we purchased our shed and kids playhouse. The products have been good quality and professional delivery. More recently, they assisted with exchanging some Teknos paint after my husband had originally purchased the wrong colour.

Excellent products and service. The quality of the shed is very good, fully watertight (unlike my previous shed from a national chain) and it was put up in no time. Lovely staff and a great choice of products. Recommended!

I ordered my shed a couple of years ago now, I wanted to leave the review for a time so I could report on how well my shed had lasted. Firstly, I was extremely impressed with the speed with which the shed erector put the shed together, took very little time at all. Shed was very sturdy, felt strong, and the shed delivered was exactly the one I ordered, even with the exact extras ordered (work bench etc.). What's incredible is that 2 years later, the shed is still as sturdy and as strong as it was the day it was installed. The roof has also remained intact, and it does take a bit of a battering as the shed is under a fir tree. Overall I could highly recommend Bourne Buildings for their, service, product range and quality, advice and expertise. If you want to buy a shed that is built to last and will stand the test of time, you really should look no further than buying from Bourne Buildings.

If you want a garden building from a wendy house to a fitted out office Bournebuildings is the place to go. Friendly and knowledgable staff plus a huge range of buildings to view to give you all the information you need to decide. The guys they use for ground works are excellent too. I've bought 3 buildings from Bournebuildings and would not go anywhere else. 12/10 for Bournebuildings !

I have just had my 7 x 7 Copeland corner summer house delivered and installed. This was ordered way back in the Winter and it was held for me until this week. From the start of the sales process dealing with Bourne Buildings site through to dealing with Regency Buildings and the installation guys, I have found this to be a very professional and friendly service all round. The quality of the summer house given that it is the lower price range of choices, is in fact really good and I am very pleased with the end result product. Would happily recommend Bourne Buildings to friends and family. Thanks to all concerned. 

I was amazed to read the negative review about this company. Before visiting Bourne Buildings I visited a number of places selling summerhouses in my area and nothing came anywhere near the standard of this company. Having no sense of direction I quickly lost my way in their vast site, but fortunately I ran into an agent who helped me out. I found it hard to decide exactly what to buy and I returned several times during the purchasing process. I also emailed and phoned on a number of occasions and never was I dealt with other than with patience and courtesy. I had a slight problem after installation and he went out of his way to get it sorted. To me this is what makes this company stand out. They believe in after-sales service. Such was the service I experienced I decided to buy a new shed as well and now I have two garden buildings which are a complete delight. Bourne Buildings recommended someone to lay the concrete bases, which was a great help if you do not have that sort of contact, and it was a comfort to know that, had I had a problem with the bases, he would have helped get it sorted. I have visited this most delightful sales site over half a dozen times. Yes, there are dogs, but not once have I seen dog poo or smelt urine. Yes, they do get busy and you sometimes have to wait, but that's what you expect in the spring or summer of a business selling summerhouses. (I'd rather wait than have an inexperienced temporary sales person taken on for the season.) Every time I do go there and get talking to people, I recommend they look no further because, if you want a summerhouse, shed, greenhouse or stone ornaments, I cannot recommend this company highly enough to you.
