I am concerned to hear your comments in this review.
Al our leathers are tested and approved to British and European Standard tests for use in General Domestic upholstery, not Light Domestic upholstery, and there is no reason therefore that your leather should have faded with light use after less than 12 months. When our Technicians inspect instances of fading/discolouration on our leathers it is nearly always attributable to the conditions of use of the upholstery. Typical examples of this are allowing pets on the upholstery, spillages, general contamination and the use of inappropriate cleaning products. If customers adhere to our Cleaning and maintenance instructions fading/discolouration should not occur.
Notwithstanding this, if you would like to contact me direct I will gladly revisit your case and come back to you with my findings.

“Top quality furniture!”

Over 10 years ago, when i moved into this new house, i took the opportunity of buying from Thomas Lloyd two settees and footstools which fitted nicely into my lounge. It is good to hear from someone who has had our furniture for so many years and that you have been delighted with it.
When customers ask me how long does your furniture last I always relate to the many satisfied customers like yourself who have had our furniture for 10 or 20 years and some customers since the early 1980's.
I also inform them that our furniture is only as good as the husbandry of its owner and that if you follow our care and maintenance instructions it will give many years of pleasure.

All our furniture is produced at our Factory in Wales by our time served craftsmen, many of whom have been with us since our inception in 1981 and all component parts are tested and approved to British and European standards.
Our product however is only as good as the use and care received. Whilst we have hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers, like yourself, who have been coming back to us since we started in 1981, we also have, as you will see from a few disgruntled customers on this review site, some customers who in our opinion think that leather furniture is indestructible, which it certainly is not.
Leather needs to be treated with the care and respect that a major purchase should.

Thomas Lloyd offer a full and free 2 year manufacturers guarantee and all our leathers are tested and approved to British and European standard tests. Had the customer reported her fault after just over a year of use we would have repaired or replaced the furniture. Our customer has not contacted us however until the 2 year guarantee had expired. The delay in contacting us will have obviously exacerbated the condition of their furniture.
Not withstanding that, if the customer would like to e-mail me personally I will look into all the circumstances.

“Forget this company they are a joke, abysmal service”

We ordered a suite for delivery in Feb, the delivery date was given to us. we sold our old suite for £450 and the lady was due to collect from Hull, she had hired a van. we then get a phone call to say that our suite hadnt even been made and that the delivery was not going ahead. We had to cancel the sale of our suite and pay her £50 compensation for her inconvenience. We explained this to the MD and he said 'Your problem not ours' a couldnt care less attitude. I am sorry that you have decided to post such a negative review about Thomas Lloyd on the Review Centre and Trustpilot review site. I want to appeal to your better judgement as I don’t believe you truly meant the words you have written. It is clearly not the case that we treat our customers in such a dismissive way as you suggest. I think the bulk of the independent comments on the review site prove this. We are a family business that takes great pride and effort in providing excellent service and furniture and we are genuinely hurt when we read such negative comments. We are fully aware of the impact of bad reviews and the damage it can do to our business. If we were as uncaring to our customers as you suggest, we would simply not be in business. The upholstery business is flooded by cheap imports and it is next to impossible for a UK manufacturer such as ourselves to compete unless we consistently offer excellent service and products. We have been trading as a family business for over 30 years in the South Wales Valleys and now employ 290 people all of whom rely on positive responses and referrals from our customers. Please appreciate the damage your review can do. I am sure as a local business owner you will.
I am aware that you have visited our showroom, spoken to numerous members of my staff and purchased a product from our seconds show. Surely on reflection you do not really want my customers to ‘Go elsewhere this company is part of Thomas Lloyd and they are a joke’, do you?
Having looked into your complaint I accept that we had to cancel your original delivery date due to the product not being ready. I apologise for this. My MD at Thomas Lloyd refunded your delivery charge in full as a result. However he was not willing to give you additional money to compensate a third party for a transaction in which we were not involved. I think this is reasonable given the refund of the delivery charge and I would have done the same. We gave you three subsequent dates in February, March and April all of which proved unsuitable to you. My MD contacted you directly to try to resolve the issues. I appreciate that you would have preferred the original delivery date to have gone to plan. We would have too, but sometimes things do not always go to plan in production. I guess this happens sometimes with wedding photography too? It did at mine!
I recognise we did not give you the service that you expected and we let you down with the initial delivery. Our error for which I apologise but surely not deserving of the review that you posted?
I appeal to your better judgement to amend your review to a more reasoned assessment.

I am sorry to hear your comments and would like to discuss this further with you to ensure that we have resolved any issues you may have had or still have.
It is unacceptable that our drivers did not complete the fitting of your 4 seater for which they have all been trained and have the relevant tools on their vehicle.
I cannot understand how you have been trying to contact us without reply as all our phone systems have answerphone facility which are responded to several times daily.
Please can I also assure you that we have not changed the design of this or any of our products displayed either on-line or in our brochures.

Spent £1200 on two sofas and after only 3 years of light use (just sitting on them - only two people in the house!) one sofa has a collapsing front caster and another has snapped entirely. The warranty only lasts 2 years of course. Replacements cost £15 per leg, with £10 postage slapped on top (why so much for postage?). Do not purchase from Thomas Lloyd, their leather is rubbish they do not want to know when things go wrong. The leather on both of our sofas from them has big faded patches. I totally concur with this review. Staff are ignorant and rude. My footstool was delivered with feet that are for transport - crude, ugly lumps, not as shown on their web site.

Purchased 2 x 3 seater Regent and 1 x 2 sestet Regent paid extra bespoke in Cambridge Black. Spent over £3,000 and took out £150 insurance for damage scratches etc. within a few months The leather on the seat cushions started to crack. Waited approx. 6 weeks for the cushions to be collected And was told I'd have replacements back approx. 3 working days. Customer visited our showroom in S Wales to place their order.
Six months later customer complained that on 1 seat cushion the leather was starting to crack. Upon our intended collection of this 1 cushion, the customer then decided to return 3 cushions to us.
Our inspection of these cushions concluded that there was staining and abrasion evident upon them and that the fault reported was not a defect in the leather. None the less, this customer received 3 new cushions from us free of charge and we also returned her original ones.

This must happen a lot then because I live in Essex and have never been to your showroom! How do you know what customer is leaving a comment without checking your facts! E.g. Order numbers etc. you could say this reply to all of your unsatisfied customers!!! You just make it up as you go along.
