My Mum ordered a 2 seater sofa and an arm chair from the shop in Rotherham.
We were told by the Salesman, that if we just rang this number....... these people would come and collect our old sofa and take it away for free, he also said he was supposed to charge for the scatter cushions but he would throw them in for free for us.

We were in no rush for the sofa, but as it turned out my Mum was suddenly taken into hospital, whilst she was in, SCS phoned up wanting to deliver the sofa, no warning and the old sofa was still there. If we didn't take delivery the next day they would start charging us £10 a day storage. Very nice while my 89 year old Mum is ill in hospital.

I pointed out their contract was with her, and they should contact the hospital themselves and ask her to arrange delivery.

I then rang the number they had given me to try & get the old suite taken away, turns out to be British Heart Foundation, who would not collect the sofa as it did not have a fire certificate. This was not mentioned at the shop. So I got a very nice "Man & a Van" to come and collect the suite and take it to the dump for me. £35 very good considering the short notice, but I was told by SCS that this was FREE.

Called at my mothers to collect her post before visiting the hospital one night, to find a card from SCS which said they had tried to deliver. Are they mad? when they have been told there will be no-one there.

So rang the delivery centre as it said on the card, to be told to call the shop. Called the shop and said the delivery would either have to be first off in the morning or last off at night, and I would meet them there.
The drivers duly turned up, handed me a Christmas Card and delivered the suite. They were fast, and pleasant. When mother came out of hospital we realised there were no cushions. Called the store asking for the 3 cushions, called the store again asking for the 3 cushions, called the store again asking for the 3 cushions, each time I was told they would check with the distribution depot and get back to me. Eventually third time lucky they did get back in touch, they had not rung the distribution depot but the manufacturers - who said 2 cushions were included with the sofa - so salesman was not throwing them in for free they should have come with sofa - but they didn't. Alas I had signed for them - but they were not listed on the delivery note and the delivery boys were in and gone in 5 minutes which at the time I thought was very good.

I asked them to check with the boys who delivered the suite as they should know whether they were packed in the plastic wrapper with the suite or not - they would not check.......

I asked that they spoke to the Salesman about his promise of 3 cushions and guess what - he had left
