“Never buy”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 14/03/2024

Bought a sofa which we were told would be solid without sagging. Totally untrue. When we received it was broken after months of waiting. Fixed on site. Wish I had returned. Have had a man out today to assess who was obnoxious and rude. Never buy from them and I totally will never recommend again to anyone.

“Very bad delivery service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MattGarwood on 29/02/2024

We had a bookcase delievered on 23rd Feb last week, and had paid £30 for the room of our choice. 3 guys brought in the huge, but filthy dirty box (clearly had sat in a warehouse for months), took it to the room we chose, but then said that's it, we don't unpack. We were shocked. had just had the house decorated, and now they left, and we had to drag the box back out of the room to our hall, to have room to unpack it - not easy, and dispose of all the filthy packing and put the bookcase back - then we complain - oh and you can't leave a google review, they just use trustpilot (i.e. so they can avoid bad reviews, filter them and make things look better than they are)

“Terrible customer service and delivery”

★★☆☆☆

written by Jaccles on 28/02/2024

We bought a sofa for just under £2000. We had to order the additional delivery (£60-70) as the only standard delivery they offer is on a Monday and we both work all day on a Monday so this wouldn't work. When the item arrived we got half of the sofa in and the foot stool to then be told our other half isn't in the van. Not the delivery drivers fault as they didn't load the van. The earliest they could then redelivery the next part was the following Tuesday. Which isn't good enough when we have events planned after moving into our new home. When talking to customer services the best they can offer is a £50 voucher (which is less than our FAILED delivery fee) which will only buy one or two items at their store. When quite frankly I don't want to give them any money. The customer service manager (whose name I'm not allowed to put in this review) couldn't refund our delivery fee and now we're left with only option of waiting and then spending more money in there shop as we don't need the items the £50 voucher would buy. Atrocious service and we're discussing a full refund of the whole sofa and experience because you do not deserve our money.

“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Valpy95 on 30/10/2023

Appalling company, appalling customer service. My elderly grandmother waited 3 months for her sofa to be delivered following moving back to the UK, relying solely on the stools that she was able to bring back. Upon delivery of the sofa, the wrong sofa was delivered and the next available delivery was another 3 months after this. Having shared with the company the situation, we were informed my grandmother would receive compensation as well as being able to keep the incorrect sofa as a goodwill gesture. We were continually fobbed off when chasing an update on this ("we will call you tomorrow" or "the handling agent isn't in the office right now") before finally being told the most we would receive is a £50 in-store credit coupon for a company we would never dream of using again. Please avoid at all costs.

“A nightmare from start to finish”

★☆☆☆☆

written by CaroleChalmers on 26/10/2023

We have purchased from OFL a number of times over the years and had no problem with the service provided or quality of furniture supplied. Of course, this was prior to OFL being taken over by Davidson Kempner. The company has now clearly lost interest in customer care and their product quality which has drastically declined. So, having ordered 2 settees on 12/11/22 with a 17 week wait time as manufactured in Vietnam, we received them in March only to find half of the recliner settee was a different colour and material. We couldn’t believe this but it apparently happens more often than you would think. We also couldn’t believe the delivery guys broke our front door threshold and didn’t even have the decency to tell us! We were eventually passed to OFL’s customer relations team as customer services were not helpful. The settees were reordered and we were assured we would have a smooth journey moving forward as the customer relations team would now oversee the replacement order and this time the settees would go through a rigid quality check to ensure they were not substandard, faulty or a mismatch. When we received the replacement settees 17 weeks later in July (after they went through the quality check) one shoulder of the 2 seater did not slot in properly leaving an unsightly gap and the 3 seater electric recliner settee made an horrendous screeching noise which worsened the more the recliner button was pressed. At least the fabric matched this time! Homeserve were sent out to inspect and advised the motor was operating correctly and the noise was due to the settee being over padded causing the fabric to rub!! The technician proved this by separating the two sections and operating the recliners and sure enough, no screeching noise. He said the noise MAY fade through time but could not guarantee this. We could not believe we were in this position, especially when the settees had “allegedly” been quality checked. Turns out the “quality check” was just to ensure the pieces matched – the settees were not fully assembled with recliner mechanism inspection. We therefore cancelled the order. A time slot of between 7pm-10pm was allocated for the collection of the OFL faulty settees. Again, not happy as we didn’t want strangers in our house when we were about to go to bed but this is just another example of the disrespect OFL show customers. We shouldn’t have had that time slot forced on us. We then discovered the settees would go to landfill, again this is not uncommon. An environmentally responsible business??? …. I think not. Regarding customer care, you are not given a specific customer relations team member to deal with your issues which simply adds to the frustration. Every time I sent an email seeking information, I found a missed call on my phone. I repeatedly advised my phone is on silent as it is not convenient for me to take calls and that I want written responses to my emails but this instruction was ignored. I have never experienced a company who respond to emails be telephone, very unprofessional. There was also a great deal of inaccurate information provided that I had to seek clarity on, again frustrating. On the occasions I was forced to call them in response to voice mail messages, I was left on hold for long periods before eventually getting through only to then be bombarded with securing questions before they would discuss what “they” called me about! At the end of this fiasco I was advised as the order was cancelled there is nothing to offset financial compensation to so we were “awarded” an OFL in store voucher (don’t laugh). This was to compensate for the months of stress, anxiety, inconvenience, upset, telephone conversations and the vast paper trail of emails. A voucher is of course useless to us as we will never shop with OFL again but guess what …… we can inflict pain on others by giving it to someone else to use!!! Will NEVER purchase from OFL again.

“Appalling finish and inadequate customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by SaraHatesOaklandFurniture on 28/09/2023

I bought the Willow Light Grey bedroom suite: 2 five-drawer units, 2 bedside tables and a kingsize bedframe, totally well over £1500. Some 8 months after delivery, the paintwork is scratched along the bed frame, a chip of wood has splintered off the bottom of one 5-drawer unit, a chip is about to come off the corner of the other 5-drawer unit, and a small circle of paint has dissolved from one of the bedside tables. I am an experienced homeowner and have furnished homes for over 20 years. I have never before had any problems at all with any furniture. Although their paperwork says "We guarantee all Products against faulty workmanship and/or faulty materials for a period of 12 months from the actual date of delivery" this does not seem to be the case. This is exceptionally poor paintwork and finish, the company have not been transparent in their policy (the time I phoned up, on 8/9, I was told the problems were covered and an engineer would come over) and I will never shop from Oakland again.

“GOODWOOD 2 seater leather recliner sofa”

★★★★★

written by suuzyNq on 20/06/2023

Delivered today and I am very happy. Delivery was very well organised. They kept me informed about my delivery with regular updates. They arrived when they said they would and the two chaps were very polite and efficient. The sofa is extremely comfortable and not too low to the floor so easy to get out of. The reclining mechanism doesn't tip too far away so no bashing into the wall; very clever mechanism. The quality is very good and only time will tell how it will last. The seating seems very robust and my husband is a huge man and says it is the most comfortable sofa he has ever sat on. All in all a big thumbs up.

“Oak varnish peals off, avoid, terrible customer service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by dean7711 on 19/05/2023

Had an oak table and with one month the varnish started to peal. Submitted pictures online, no response for a month. I then chased it and they said they would send someone around to look at it. Homeserve showed up today and said they have to invalidate the claim as the table was wiped with water and a bit of white vinegar. Apparently your only supposed to use water only to clean it and no products as told by homeserve. There was no mention of what to use as instructed on website. So now I am left with a £700 table with loads of pealed varnish. Not recommended to buy from these guys, very expensive and awful customer service.. I will put in a complaint today.

You're complaining about a product that you ruined? Sounds more your fault than theirs.

Complaining about a weak expensive oak product with varnish that peels off easily with a tiny bit of white vinegar in water. I have numerous other oak varnished tops in the house where this doesn't happen. A £700 table should be more durable in my opinion...Ive paid less for more durable products.

“mfi reborn but even worse”

★☆☆☆☆

written by unhappycustomer78 on 15/05/2023

two sideboards and a coffee table ordered november 2022. the first two were eventually delivered but damaged. because of the long wait and unwilling to wait even longer I glued the end back on the coffee table and repaired the chipped legs on both pieces. after a wait of 6 months we finally received the second sideboard today. furniture is made in vietnam and imported which explains why o/f don't know what's arriving or when. I assume damage is caused en route. If you order from o/f their delivery dates are meaningless and you have to expect to receive damaged furniture. the driver who delivered today confirmed that his company aren't fit for purpose and confirmed they regularly have to revisit to collect damaged furniture. we will never use o/f again and friends and family have all been warned. a company relies on repeat business and good reviews to thrive.

“Damaged Coffee Table not replaced”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Mr-Ayyub on 11/05/2023

Purchased some wooden furniture and the solid wood coffee table cracked after a month of use - spoke to customer services who came out to view the damage. As I was having windows fitted the same day as the inspection, to avoid the inspector getting in a room of dust I moved the coffee table from my lounge to my conservatory so he did not have to deal with both the noise and the dust. After reviewing they claimed the crack was caused by general wear and tear and they could not offer a replacement! Completely unacceptable and now they are saying its due to the coffee table being in a conservatory which has too much light when I clearly just moved it there for ease of inspection! Did not listen to what I was saying to them and now I have a £400 cracked coffee table and no replacement, an absolute joke. Whatever you do, do not buy from this store - furthermore do not get pulled into purchasing the extra cover / warranty as I paid for this and they still have not covered the faulty coffee table. I spent a lot on multiple furniture items with them and would advise everyone to avoid this company.

“Faulty legs not sorted”

★★☆☆☆

written by 50Prater on 03/05/2023

Purchased and armchair. When it arrived the front legs were clearly incorrect as they were identical not mirror images for left and right so the screws on one leg were on the back and another on the side. Contacted OakFurnitureland who sent a Homeserve engineer who agreed to order a replacement set of legs. Three weeks later, having heard nothing, I phoned Customer Service who said that Homeserve had contacted the manufacturer who said there was new spec and the legs were correct. Not only is this not the case, but also we had not been informed of this decision. While the armchair is usable we are very dissatisfied and will not use the company again.

“Took money, told 18 weeks later have to wait 15 weeks more”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Adriennei71 on 14/03/2023

I am absolutely disgusted with Oak Furnitureland. We ordered a module corner sofa on 16.10.22. We paid for premium delivery for -24.2.23. 18 weeks we have waited. On Tuesday 22nd February they confirmed our 3 hour delivery slot for Friday. On Wednesday evening I was emailed and told parts were not available. They told us only 4 out of 5 parts of the sofa and I will have to wait another 15 weeks for the order and they have cancelled my delivery. How have they only just discovered there is a piece missing the day before delivery? They had our money for 20 weeks. We were offered no interest on the money and only offered a discount if we reordered and waited a total of 33 weeks for delivery which was not guaranteed. They are a law unto themselves and can do what ever they want. They are not part of any ombudsman group so complaints are pointless. Avoid at all costs.

“Missing parts”

★★☆☆☆

written by ChiltonClient on 17/01/2023

Ordered a bookcase, delivered ok fitted together well. However, the small round oak plugs that cover the screws were missing. Made at least three phone calls to get the missing plugs sent - nothing arrived despite firm assurances that the parts are being despatched. This has been going on since November 2021 - what a terrible piece of customer service!

“NIGHTMARE SERVICE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DICKJACK on 06/12/2022

Nightmare service. Bought table & chairs (nearly £2k). Delivery date they gave me was 21 November. Stayed in but nothing arrived and they did not contact me. Eventually rearranged delivery for following week but when it arrived delivery bloke told me table was faulty and needed to be returned. I kept the chairs. Delivery was arranged again for today but delivery bloke told me he didn't have all the parts on board so he wouldn't be able to assemble it. Delivery arranged again for this Friday - I'll let you know if OK. Along the way I got the impression from them that things go wrong very often. When I spoke to a customer services manager (Rickard something) I asked for a director level person but he told me that they were not "customer facing". Maybe that's their problem - they feel no pain at the top and clearly have no wish to get involved with their customers.

“Holding items hostage, demanding extra payment”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Maximiliank486 on 18/11/2022

The buying process in the showroom was lovely and smooth - in hindsight because they haven't yet parted you from your hard earned money. Everything thereafter has been a complete nightmare, requiring me to pay several last minute 'fees' (Even though I paid in full at the showroom) and take FOUR days off work to receive my order of TWO items. Had a call 2 days before the first delivery saying it had been cancelled due to underpayment. Rather than use the MONTHS they had between order and delivery to get this clarified, they instead cancelled on short notice THEN followed up with a call to demand extra payment. The showroom had assured me that my two items would be considered as one order and thus one delivery fee, and everything was paid in full on the day. The agent on the phone said otherwise, and would "get back to me". After not getting back to me, and having to chase them for an answer, the additional payment demanded had now INCREASED by £100! At least one of my orders has turned up today.. except with half of it missing and coming in two weeks time...

“Lied RE Full Refund”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 02/11/2022

The furniture arrived and it could not fit up the stairs, I wish they fronted the fact that the furniture is not flatpack. The wardrobe was 144kg... You can't do that without help. Also, when it became apparent that it wasn't happening, I was told that if I returned it I could get a full refund, and that I would be called immediately to discuss it after they had contacted customer service. The delivery drivers left, no call no nothing, I waited around before calling this company at which point I was told I was not getting a full refund, they were going to charge me over £100 for the privilege of being able to sell my furniture to someone else. Awful.

“Poor customer service and delivery service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MintoC on 31/08/2022

I ordered a wardrobe from Oak Furnitureland and paid in full including £99 for room of choice delivery and agreed a delivery date of 24th June 2022 which Oak Furniture Land confirmed by text the time of delivery between 5pm and 8pm the day beforehand. I also ordered a chest of drawers and bedside cabinet online which was to be delivered on 6th July 2022. On the day of 24th June there was no delivery of the wardrobe. I contacted Customer Services and after waiting for 90 minutes for someone to answer the phone I was told the wardrobe had been marked as being delivered even though it hadn't been. I contacted the store that I ordered it from and was referred back to Customer Services. I eventually managed to speak to someone with customer services after another 60 minutes wait on the phone and agreed that the wardrobe had not been delivered and agreed a new delivery date of 6th July 2022 and a rebate of £99 for late delivery. On the 6th July Oak Furnitureland delivered the chest of drawers, the bedside unit but could not deliver the wardrobe as the delivery men said that they could not take the wardrobe upstairs as they were not allowed to lift the wardrobe over the bannister. When I was told this I told the delivery men to return the wardrobe and I would ask for a refund from Customer Services. When I checked the drawers there was a large crack down the side so therefore I returned both items to Oak Furnitureland and contacted Customer Services for a full refund. Oak Furnitureland provide poor Customer Services and delivery services and do not fulfil their obligations. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

“Overpriced and misleading storage space ”

★★★☆☆

written by Cruzew81 on 22/07/2022

Expensive, quality furniture which looks nice. However the drawers for all of the bedroom set we bought are very small with lots of wasted space behind them, disappointing that wont be as functional as we were hoping. Delivery charge is too expensive, and our first delivery men struggled getting the chest of drawers upstairs so apologised and left as we hadn’t paid for an extra unpackaging option. Good if you want the look but not the storage!

All I can suggest is to try applying a beeswax polish to the outside if it’s on the inside try putting a tumble dryer sheet inside I hope this helps

Never had this problem with any of my oak furniture but I did purchase a tin of their beeswax polish when I bought the furniture & applied it after delivery, maybe this sealed it?
Report this content JohnBall Written on: 06/08/2019
The smell will eventually disperse on it's own, but as a matter of course, you should give your furniture a good coat if Fiddes Supreme wood wax (add a few drops of lavender oil if you like). The "orrible pong" comes from god knows what sort of wax that is applied in China. If, like my furniture, yours came with a rough texture, apply the new wax with fine wire wool in the direction of the grain. Buff when dry. Repeat 6 monthly if it's in a centrally heated room. Hope that helps.

I'm less optimistic than those below. I had dreadful time with OFL, but won in the end. Put everything in writing to OFL. If they call you, then again summarise the conversation in an email to them. Then if (when) you get no joy you have a provable written record. Write to The Furniture Ombudsman, or if you bought it on finance, the Financial Ombudsman. This is an easy process and they are both lovely and easy to work with. You can write to them even if the finance has finished - you're still protected. Check out their websites. The law says that OFL have to deal with your issue within strict time lines - use this against them - or they'll run you in circles until you lose the will to live. DON'T GIVE UP. GOOD LUCK!

We bought leather sofas and chairs and they seem to be good quality although we have only had them for about 3 months. We did do a lot of research as we had previously bought leather recliners from Furniture Village which were not of satisfactory quality. We did buy the Oak Furniture extended warranty product which seems very comprehensive unlike the Furniture Village insurance which only covered accidental damge and not inferior product. Do some research on what questions to ask.

Unfortunately i haven't bought sofas or armchairs from Oak furniture land, however did buy a kingsize bed, wardrobe, 3 dressers, blanket box, computer desk and stool and 2 bedside cabinets and couldn't be more pleased. Oh and they gave me the extra large mirror for nothing!!! I was so impressed with the quality of the products that i have been back to the shop (just a month later) to buy bedroom furniture for my 2nd bedroom and also a TV cabinet for my lounge. The quality was outstanding, delivered by very professional carriers, who even took the time out to show me the best way to unpack each item so as not to hurt my back. The goods were very well packaged and it just took me 2 trips to the tip to dispose of it - they had told me in advance that i would need to dispose of this myself so it wasn't a shock. It was an amazing experience from start to finish and nothing was to much trouble. Would definitely recommend them to my friends and family and will be using them again in the not too distant future!

We have not bought sofas, only wooden items but they are made beautifully. We found the customer service was excellent and I am sure you would receive the same standard and quality and service with their other items.

I had a lot of trouble with my 3 seater sofa and had to have their technicians out on 8 occasions to fix the issues. The faults were more design issues rather than poor quality. My issues have now finally been resolved. The customer service is impeccable and they have never not attended to my issues. I would urge you not to buy online and visit a store to make sure you get a good look at what you want to buy.

Furniture ordered, delivered early (only gripe I have is that I could have paid for early delivery, when it clearly wasn't necessary with standard delivery arriving before estimated date). Furniture is of good quality, looks good, and was reasonably priced.

I'm afraid I have no experience of purchasing 'soft' furnishings from Oak Furniture Land: that said I would look for a hardwood frame. real leather, not a plastic alternative as was highlighted last week from another manufacturer, microfiber synthetic leather, or leather faced!

I am sorry that it took so long for Oak furniture Land to arrive in Belfast, but now they are here we can see the quality of their products first hand. I would recommend Oak Furniture to all that are interesting in buying furniture from this company. Not only is their products of the highest quality but the staff and delivery service are above all other furniture retailers, Yes go to Oak Furniture for the total experience of quality and service you will not be disappointed.

We bought dining table and chairs, and we are more than pleased with the quality and the service we rec'd from Oak furniture land, we had to do a little DIY to put it together, and that wasn't beyond even my skills (non-existent), so very happy.

I cannot recommend them highly enough. It is the first time that I have bought solid furniture but once had a contract in a solid furniture assembly factory so I was used to seeing good quality furniture being made. The service from start to finish was superb. Delivery on time, called by the driver before to give me notice of his arrival, helped up some very difficult stairs to the first floor, assisted with arranging the boxes in the right order and then I was left to put the furniture together. Very robust, superbly made furniture, easy to follow assembly instructions, all parts were there and were not cheap tacky components either. Once assembled, the triple wardrobe looks like it will outlast me! Superb finishes on all surfaces. I was so pleased, I phoned their customer service team JUST to thank them for the service and quality of product. I've never used them before and have no connection to them at all but would never hesitate to use them to replace other furniture.

I bought a large range of bedroom furniture 3 double wardrobes, two sets of drawers, a dressing table and two bedside tables. The wardrobes were good but all had a slight fault, nothing glaring most people wouldn`t see them but the rest of the furniture was first class. If you do buy remember to make sure they can fit through your doors and this includes the packaging. Would I recommend them, yes but check your purchases throughly.

Can't comment on sofas & armchairs; but if the oak dining table with 6 leather chairs, sideboard and (free) mirror, that this company shipped to the depths of Cornwall (March 2015), is anything to go by; then I'd say the quality is likely to be excellent. We had no problems with this company nor with the delivery (we'd arranged to be in Cornwall at the time). Assembly was easy (with table upside down to install the legs) BUT the table was so exceedingly heavy I had to get a local friend, the next day, to help us upright it. My experience with Oak Furniture Land was very good.

Honest opinion I would not go near them. Quality of goods that I received were very poor/damaged and they were not interested in replacing, they wanted to repair? Why repair new goods that are damaged. I don't remember opting to buy damaged goods. So was left with no option of sending it all back at my own cost! Very poor customer service not what I expected.

I bought two bedside cupboards and a taller chest of drawers in the bella range. They are actually for my lounge to go beside my sofas and in an alcove. They are really solid and the cream colour is lovely. All drawers are solid and well made. Communication was excellent throughout the whole process and delivery was accurate. The packaging was absolutely fantastic. Layers and layers of bubble wrap and cardboard so very well protected. I would have no hesitation in ordering from them again.

Do yourself a favour and either use old bread crates or old tea chests, or planks on blocks!! OFL is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. The table I had collapsed within a year. but still OFL would not replace it - despite a Professional Survey (which they finally organised) saying it was a manufacturing fault. PEOPLE OF THE UK - IF YOU MUST BUY FROM OFL THEN USE THE INTEREST FREE CREDIT. THEN WHEN YOU HAVE PROBLEMS YOU CAN CONTACT THE FINANCE COMPANY (WHO WONT HELP BECAUSE THEY'RE AFRAID OF OFL). BUT THEN YOU CAN WRITE TO THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN WHO WILL FORCE THE FINACNE COMPANY TO FIX THE PROBLEM. This is what I had to do. OFL would do NOTHING and still did NOTHING. It took me ages and ages to get the problem sorted out - it is only sorted out now because of my following the pathway above. Best advice - AVOID.

Hi, We recently bought dining table, chairs, sideboard, entertainment centre and coffee table from Oak Furnitureland and are very happy with the quality of the furniture. We were happy with the carefully packaged and prompt delivery of our furniture. The seats of the dining chairs are comfy, easy to clean and well made. Even though we haven't bought any sofas or armchairs we would happily return to Oak Furnitureland if we needed to buy any. Hope this helps with your purchase decision.

We bought two electric recliner leather armchairs and a two seater electric recliner leather sofa, we paid over two thousand pounds in May 2015. The quality (in my opinion) is total rubbish. The seats on all three pieces have sunken, the sponge in all the seats is near enough flat and the leather therefore is baggy on the seat area. All the mechanics in the three pieces squeak and rattle and the leather has a very shabby look about it despite using the leather cleaner and polish we were talked into buying when we bought the suite. There is only my wife and I, we have no other family and we have very few visitors, so the suite has never been abused, but it looks years old. We had problems from day one, the company (including the owner) don't answer letters or emails. The customer service people will just fob you off with anything they can get away with. The company are not members of the Furniture Ombudsman, therefore cannot be challenged by the authorities. Any decent company will be members of the Furniture Ombudsman, it is obvious why they are not members. Take my advice and buy anywhere else but Oak Furniture Land and save yourself hundreds of pounds. Oak Furniture Land were slated by Watchdog on the television in 2015 (unfortunately after we bought). If you do decide to buy from Oak Furniture Land make sure you use a Credit Card, you can then apply for "charge back" from the card company if you have problems. We bought with a debit card so we didn't have that option.

Make sure they will fit through your door and into your living room as the one I purchased wouldn't, and I had to return it and it cost me £300 as they charge you 30% to return anything. It's the last time I buy anything from them.

Hi The quality of the products are great but the attitude of Oak Furniture Land Customer Services stinks. Be careful ordering sofas & armchairs. If they decide that they cannot get them through your front door easily (It's too difficult for them to remove cushions) they will give you the choice of leaving them on your drive or taking them back but adding 30% on the bill for the inconvenience. As much as the products are good I would not order from them for the above reasons. It seems that once you have signed on the dotted line & paid the money they will not put themselves out to help you. The drivers are so tied up by Oaks policies that they are scared of their own shadows

Don't bother with their leather furniture. I have the Clarence corner sofa and armchair that don't match in colour or finish and they fob you off with all sorts of excuses. They have deemed them not outside of their tolerance levels and say the difference is minimal. So they are admitting there is a difference but wont do anything about it. Have got finance company involved, as they are equally liable under section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, who have said I have to take my complaint to the Furniture Ombudsman.

I can only go from our experience, and it was a tragedy; a costly one at that. We purchased double wardrobe, triple wardrobe, double bed, bedding box and two bedside cabinets. It's a lengthy story, so I won't get into it here, but I would say that we wouldn't deal with them ever again. The five star ratings are all well and good; it's hard to tell someone that this company is a shambles when everything goes right. But when things go wrong? Look out, because their customer services will wear you down to your knees. Shoddy workmanship, each piece falling about, they wouldn't offer a refund and the only way was to pay to send the items back; actually, the snatched our hands off in charging us £200 for us to be rid of them. We each deal with suppliers and judge them by the way they perform; sadly, for us it was an abysmal affair which had my wife in tears and £200 poorer. Cross your fingers and hope that you will not be one of the 'one-star- raters' who have been ripped off by this unscrupulous company. I could only say that I truly wish you luck should you purchase, and then wish you luck, in that nothing goes wrong or becomes untowards from then-on.
