We ordered a suite the day after boxing day from Land of Leather and they they went bust. We still continued with our order its now 15 May and we are still waiting again like the other lady cannot get anyone to answer the phones have written and still no reply. Surely to wait 5 months is silly no wonder they went into liquidation.

I bought a 3 and 2 and 1 reclining suite from land of leather it to as started coming away at the seams on several cushions went back to the shop they didn't seem to me to be bothered about my complaint. i took the full gold insurance out and they came and they said they wont repair it this cover stated if it rips comes away at the seams they would repair it or give me a refund which yet again the paper is worth nothing as they said it wasn't the seams but it is and in that case it says im covered for rips and tears but they wont do anything so i am taking it up with trading standards as the insurance firm they use should not get away with selling this policy when they havent done anything to rectify my problem.

I could write all day about our experience with LoL in Inverness, but you would find our experience hard to believe. One thing is for sure we will never enter a LoL shop again! We bought the Hilken 3+2 suite and got delivery six weeks later to find the suite was faulty. We reported this imediately on delivery and was told the upholsterer would be in touch within the next few days. Seven phone calls, twelve days sitting in waiting and three months later waiting for the upholsterer we gave up and reported them to trading standards who eventually got us our money back. I wish I had read the reviews before entering their shop, It would have saved us a lot stress and we wouldn't have had to sit on the floor for another seven weeks waiting for our new suite coming from Harvey's. Wish we went to Harvey's first.

would buy again, and im a fussy cow. Good qualtity leather and stucture still going strong after 7 years, gave it to a friend cos we wanted a newer design. also my grandmother who is obese still has hers after 7 years and its tip top. dont believe everything you read guys

I found this review not helpful because...I'm glad someone has had a good experience, but this doesn't mean everyone else has. Why would all these people take time to write about their bad experience if it didn't happen. I'm sure they have better things in their lives to contend with. I can understand not believing everything you read but in cases like this I think you would be an idiot not to take notice of other peoples comments. That's why eBay has been so successful; both buyers & sellers love to be rated as this gives people an insight to how each individual does business. I just would rate Land of Leather as conn artists; they take your money & leave you with their faulty goods, thats if your fortunate enough to get your suite in the first place.

I bought the Mimi Premier leather 3 and 2 seater suite in October 2007 from Land Of Leather retail park Oldham, I also purchased what I thought was the 5 year guarantee for wear and tear, (and was informed today it was actually for stains.)
The 3 seater has started to fall apart and after 3 weeks I finally got to speak to a Manager who informed me as it was over 12months, (by 1 day) and the fact the 5 year cover is only for accidental stains, there is nothing they can do except, if, I pay a fee of £41.00 they will send a Technician to compile a report, I don't see why I should have to. What concerns me the most is the suite is in a room I hardly use so wear and tear was not really an issue but I feel quality most definitely is. I would advise anyone to be very careful what they purchase from this store.

My wife and I bought a 3 and 2 sofa from Land of Leather at their leeds store on 20th june 2006 and was told we would have to wait 8 weeks. 14 weeks later we were allowed to collect it. Infact I was told it was at tamworth then newcastle when I believe it was at the leeds warehouse near our home since the day we bought it. When the driver was transporting the sofa to the van in he caught the van and shunted it forwards before realising it was stuck. When we got it home it was damaged and we had to have it repaired. Then it became faulty 5 months on. After 2 months of the store saying 'the manager isn't in yet' we finally got an exchange which has now gone faulty 4 months on (same fault). We have asked for our money back and have been told by the store that they are waiting for the area manager to authorise it. I asked can you phone them to speed it up? They said no. Then I was told there may be a fair wear and tear fee as we have had it for 4 months? I explained that it was faulty and why should I pay when I feel it's not fit for purpose?

First of all our sofa was 2 months late and every time we phoned the store to see what was happening they would fob us off with a different excuse evrytime. The sofa arrived eventually and everything was fine then our first problem was one of the recliners was stuck up and would not close so we phoned the store for someone to come and fix it and they said it would take 48 hours. When the repair man came he said he would have it fixed for us which was great but in the mean time we had noticed another problem which was only minor. On the seat there is a thin strip of leather going across and it had started to wear and we had only had the sofa for 8 months at this point. When we showed the repair man he said it was my fault because I did not use land of leather cleaning products even though I used special cleaning products for leather, he then told me it was low grade leather and we had only paid for the mechanisms in the recliner.

Took out Land of Leather's seemingly worthless GOLD level insurance, sold on a covered for everything basis!
18 months later the stitching came apart on the two seater sofa.
Filled in insurance forms after a grilling over the telephone. Sent them requested photos, with forms of defect/damage. 3 weeks later they sent out someone to speak to me again in person and take more photos. (It seems A4 size photos sent by myself were not good enough).
During the home visit I was advised however, that you are apparently not supposed to move the suite or sit on it, so it seems. A further 4 weeks later
Land of Leather/Homeserve just sent out standard no claim on policy letter (no excuses, I was just to look at Insurance policy documentation for one of their many reasons why they will invalidate a claim - it looks as though I am bound to fall into one category or other). Anyway from what I have been reading, it seems I have received nothing other than their usual level of customer service.
Now I just want to know how to dismantle the wretched thing so I can throw it on the skip???

I bought a 3,2,1 in land of leather Northern Ireland 16 months ago. I also paid the gold insurance. The leather started to peel down the sides of the 3 seeter, and I rang homeserve. They sent out a man who took photos and wrot a report. He was not a very sociable person. I got a reply the next week stating I wasnt covered, as it wasnt covered. My policy states it covers peeling of the leather, I was told it wasnt peeling. WHAT DO THEY CALL PEELING.
<br/>I appealed the insurance claim and stated how my policy said I was covered for peeling and why was i beiin denied this claim. A few weeks later I received a reply stating they had looked into the claim and the insurance had made the right decision, and the peeling which they said isnt peeling is not covered. Anyone know what else can I do or where else do I complain to, as I am determined I am not giving up. I cannot afford to buy a new sofa, and the 2 seater and chair are fine, and I was told when i bought the insurance, that the gold policy covered everything.

Purchased recliner settee about two years ago. It is starting to show apparent signs of peeling and poor stitch work. Land of Leather have said they will not repair it. I am now in touch with insurance Ombudsman.

I have been also having problems with my leather seats that costed £799 plus £200 insurance and extras, that I purchased in 2007. I contacted Land of Leather end of year 2007, and they came to sort of like repair the leather that was peeling off. Late 2008, the recliner stopped working and we have been trying to contact them since with no success. The number on the receipt and on the internet is not been answered when I try to phone. Proof of purchase and everything is still available. Please someone do advise steps to follow next. Tendai Musiyazviriyo, Southampton.
