I ordered a 10 drawer farmhouse chest over a month ago- the money was promptly taken out of my account! £199.95 I had to phone up to chase delivery and was told it was "lost" I am still waiting a month later- I was told to put my concerns in an e mail and would receive a reply within 24 hours- this did not happen and I am still waiting for the thing to either turn up or some sort of contact from the company. Whether you are a customer or not, they will flood your inbox with SPAM e-mail on a daily basis if they ever get hold of your address. Would you want to buy from a company that: 1. Sends SPAM e-mail completely unsolicited 2. Ignores all requests to be unsubscribed from their mailings That alone should demonstrate that they clearly have no notion of customer service. (read more)

Ordered set of knives from their catalogue. Within days they were rusting away. I returned them as directed by post with a customer returns number. Over a month and 5 calls (premium rate) later they still can't tell me whether the parcel has been received as there is "no paperwork from the warehouse". It seems that this company cannot be contacted directly, they hide themselves behind a call centre who are unable to help you personally as they are totally reliant on their client sending... This company should be avoided at all costs! I ordered a cutlery tray on 3rd January 2013 only to receive an e mail from Paypal 10 days later saying I have been refunded the full cost! I was patiently waiting for my delivery so e mailed Jean Patrique to ask what was going on. They have informed me that the item had been discontinued! After failing to deliver my order made on 7th December 2012 I have e-mailed on numerous occasions to try and review the situation but each time only receive an automated reply acknowledging receipt of e-mail and a promise of a response within 24 hours. AVOID this company.. I should have read all the reviews before and saved myself time. i paid for my order 3.99+9.99p+p. by paypal. neither did they send me a confirmation of my order. neither did they send me my order. after complaining they said they had no record of the order on their system. however as i had paid by paypal, i could prove it. so i started a case. they now offered to send me the original item.. but said it could take around 13 days.. so i declined and asked for a refund..... I have ordered about 10 items from Jean Patrique. All orders have arrived quickly and exactly as described. One set of stainless steel knives tarnished after 18 months and they were replaced free of charge without question and without having to return them. Everybody has their own personal experiences, but mine has been great. The products are fantastic, speedy service and great customer service. I have recommended to many friends and family members and they have all been impressed. (read more)

As far as I am aware, Jean Patrique, like many other internet selling companies must comply with the Direct Selling Regulation. Within this is that for returned / unwanted items, they must refund the INITIAL cost of P&P (not your return postage). They don't comply. Therefore, they owe everyone who has returned unwanted items this cost. It is important that this is raised. I believe Next and Debenhams may have lost a case on this and had to pay out. Just switched on PC - have been bombarded with three emails to my work email within the space of 36 hours. I've never heard of the company before nor do I use my work email for home shopping, so I'm really annoyed they've clearly bought a load of emails and mass SPAMmed everyone on it. I won't deal with a company that sends you so many emails without permission and suggest you don't either - it's the only way to stop them. (read more)

Very likely THE most appalling after sales experience I have EVER HAD All personel tip each other off so you are never called back. All e-mail complaints or concerns go to a totally inadequate call centre, who DO NOT (by admission) liaise with customer service staff who deal with same but by phone. This is my experience too with customer services that should certainly be renamed customer non-services. My experience has left me without goods or refund. My money has gone into a black hole presumably together with members of staff especially anyone beyond the level of a bored customer service person who is rude and disinterested for whose lack of help or response I paid a premium rate. This company should be blacklisted and/or investigated by financial services regulators.

I made an order with this 'company' last weekend, It was meant to come to £14.99 with Free delivery. Well I've been charged £14.99 and £9.99 delivery. I've given them plenty of chances, but after many emails to Jean Patrique over the course of over three months I've come to the conclusion that Jean Patrique have no interest in complying with anti-spam laws. I too placed an order for several items and paid through Paypal on the 9th Jan 2011. I waited 5-6 weeks. Chased, was told they have been out of stock on one of the items, didn't know when it would be in. Waited a further 2 then cancelled. feeling very conned by Jean Patrique, as you click through to payment page you don't realise you are making further orders for goods you have no interest in. No option of going back. This company is a joke, yes it looks professional but is far from it! Placed my order on 31st January and the money was taken straight from my account. Just called today February 10th and have just been told it may take up to 28 days to arrive! I have hence cancelled and awaiting a refund?

The most important lesson from dealing with this firm Jean Patrique is if you have a complaint ring their ordinary line on 01795412007 and ask to speak to a supervisor and do not be put off with being passed on to anyone else. Their premium line is 10p per minute from BT and 40p per minute from a mobile.
To get my undelivered goods reimbursed took £20 of premium rate calls but I finally got through to supervisor on 01795412007 who has now reimbursed my costs.

I think I know why you guys aren't getting your goods, they've come to my house - and I haven't even heard of Jean Patrique. I ordered a bathroom cabinet from Primrose Bathrooms and instead got 2 ice cream makers from JP for a lady in Cornwall. Dealing with this firm is like running through treacle, of varying depths while blindfolded. Following my letter concerning a refund , which has been received by them, I have heard nothing. Don't ring their premium rate helpline, contact their switchboard on 01795 412007. And beware, because they are either an agent, or they sell under lots of other guises. I placed an order on 15th December 2010, in answer to an advertisement that stated "Perfect Gift for Christmas". I have not received my order as yet. I have telephoned the company twice but I was only able to talk to a call centre. They were able to tell me that one item I had ordered was out of stock and an order could not be split. Very poor customer services; product came into stock after I cancelled order, but told had to REorder!

Don't use this company. Like other reviewers, I regret having to award any stars at all - simply not deserved. They take money immediately, fail to provide goods and respond to emails (do not be tempred to use the premium rate phone line) by a variety of delaying tactics.
