We looked at many stores and websites but the promise of quality and aftersales support looked good so we ordered a glass top kitchen table and 4 chairs (Eton)for £279.99. On arrival we assembled the items and was dissapointed with the general finish quality ie uneven surfaces on the chrome square legs and back supports. We thought as it wasnt a realy expensive price thats what you expect. What we didnt expect was to find one rear leg lower section devoid of chrome (clearly the metal was contaminated and not clesned correctly before the plating process) At this point we assumed that the items were possibly "seconds" or damaged stock bought cheaply from the manufacture. We contacted furniture247 via e-mail with pictures of the fault but had no respone until i called "customer services". The responce was an e-mail asking which leg and what problem: all this information was given on my first e-mail to them but i did resend the original again. Again we had no responce so i sent a forther e-mail explaining i would reclaim my payment from the credit card company.This did achieve a responce saying they would order a new leg section but i imagine this was clearly a delaying action to gain time !! in the hope that we would eventually give up . No further responces or legs have been received so no doubt we will have to complain to our credit card company who are equally and severally responsable for goods purchased through them or resort to a county court claim. We would not contemplate buying any other item from 247 again or that matter any on line furniture seller:it would have been easier dealing with a local store C Johnson LLB(hons)
