Thought about booking tickets via The Trainline, checked prices and they were around £12.50 return. Wasn't sure what time I would book it so I decided to buy it on the day from the station. £7 return!
Booking a train to Scotland with my friend (very early and with rail card) prices for 2 people were over around £70 but if we book separately around £18. We booked at exactly the same time on different computers, my friends went through and I was told the price had gone up to £27ish. Then looked at National Rail and East Coast and BOTH were cheaper. Tried to cancel my friends ticket but couldn't without losing the money so had to spend more so we could travel together.
Both of us will be avoiding this site in the future and always checking National Rail and East Coast first.
