Find My Past really works for me

When I first became interested in family history a couple of years ago, I took advantage of free weekends on Ancestry and Genes Reunited, then took out a basic subscription to GR because my sisters had family trees on there and began to create my own tree.

Then Find My Past offered a free weekend early in 2015 and I was so impressed by its ease of use and flexible family tree and individual profile structure that I took out a one-year worldwide subscription and transferred my existing family tree across from Genes Reunited.

The progress I have made on my family tree on both my own and my husband's side of our family in the past year has been wonderful. From a very basic tree with fewer than a couple of hundred names, my tree has expanded to include well over a thousand names on both sides of the family.

I have been able to build on information already gathered by my sisters and by myself elsewhere to fill in several annoying gaps and to make links and discoveries which have been both exciting and satisfying. The addition of the 1939 register is just the icing on the cake for me and I shall be happily renewing my subscription in a couple of weeks.

No single site is perfect, as each offers a slightly different combination of resources, but for my purposes as a family history enthusiast, rather than a serious genealogist, Find My Past fills the bill very well indeed.
