“DEAD FLOWERS ROTTING STEMS! USED VASE!!! PRETTY IN...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by McCollumpa371 on 29/12/2015

It took me 4 hours to order this bouquet which was for an anniversary gift on 23rd December. I ordered it in plenty of time first week of December. Finally I had to telephone to place the order which was entirely time consuming. I never got a very sincere apology about the glitch in the system which would not allow me to leave a gift message. Staff also had the same problem where the system wouldn't allow a message with the bouquet. I spent £35 which I thought would give a reasonable sized bouquet and I carefully read reviews first. The flowers were received about mid - day on the correct day. However when my wife opened the huge gift box I was horrified! All the flowers were in appalling condition. My wife was in tears and they were NOT TEARS OF JOY AND HAPPINESS. The pink grasses were all broken and dropping seeds everywhere. The roses were full open squashed and nearly dead. Carnation heads also were full open flower heads and had brown edges, the white chrysanths were full bloom all the edges were bent over and brown. The vase had clearly been used previously? . We removed the flowers from the packaging and underneath the heads of the roses and carnations were green and brown. The stems and leaves were rotting and slimey like you get when flowers have been in water for about 2 weeks. I rang Tesco flowers and they were initially unable to even find the order - it was found out eventually they had been ordered on a temporary account. I wanted a replacement bouquet but even here there were problems. The pretty in pink bouquet was out of stock and the member of staff wouldn't allow me to order a replacement alternative bouquet. Also there was no way they were going to get me out a replacement until almost the new year. I wasn't able to get a bouquet from a florist to replace either as it was too near Christmas!!! I have ordered a different bouquet with sincere apologies to my wife as this was supposed to be celebrating the anniversary of our engagement 40 years ago on 23rd December. The new bouquet is supposed to be arriving today (29th )which is the soonest I could get. I once again tried to order on line but had exactly the same problem as the first time and I had to telephone the order through once again. As I read out the message I wanted on the card the lovely lady was uttering words of disbelief and aplogized over and over again. I have entrusted this to Tesco again because I'm hoping they will take extra care over it due to the devastation over this bouquet. This was my first ever bouquet with Tesco and I'm afraid I would at this moment in time have to tell anyone thinking of buying flowers from them TO STEER WELL CLEAR and do everything you can to buy elsewhere.
