I am now into the sixth week of handing over a (rather expensive) mobile phone and yet to receive payment. Stuck at the 75% process, which is the part where you have verified your details. (Why can't this be done right at the outset like let say....a Paypal account!)

Rang customer service to find out what is going on and went from caller 5 to caller 1 in the queue in the space of 3 mins....not bad.....cancelled by the fact that I was then hanging on the line waiting for an advisor for a further 15 minutes!!!! Claw some of the money back on phone rates eh? Good plan.

Finally get someone to answer and in all fairness, was a very pleasant person but proceeded to tell me that my item has been accepted, account verified etc but the payment has unfortunately been stuck in a queue, despite it being 8 days since they said it was to be processed. This to me stinks of a company that delays payouts to customers until they have made a decent turnover on the sale of the used goods each month they are sent. Truly abysmal service. Have been told that because I have waited for an "abnormal amount of time" that my payment will be prioritised and made today. Pretty straight forward huh? Then proceeded to be told that receipt of payment will be 3-5 working days for a BACS transfer. sorry, are we still in the noughties? Just about all BACS payments I make/receive these days clear within a couple of hours! Poor showing, Mr Magpie!

Here's some advice to your shoddy company...If you cant handle the workload and deal with your customers efficiently, then increase your workforce and improve your automated systems. I should NOT be having to call you after 6 weeks to spur you on for my money when you have had my goods for over 5 weeks. I am not expecting 3-4 day fast payment miracles, but a turnover of a couple of weeks should not be out of reach.

People reading this review, I hope you are now way more informed than I was from the outset of this little adventure. Avoid using Music Magpie unless they truly sort their act out.

P.S. The customer advisor informed me on the phone that they are more of a "decluttering" company as opposed to a fast payment for goods organisation and that turnaround for most payments is around 4 weeks. Haha....the irony. Seems your payment system is cluttered with incompetence. I truly felt sorry for that call centre operator, they must be having to spout off the same excuses all day for National Minimum Wage. :(
