“Not helpful for charities”

We bought a bulb for our projector and later realized we didn't need it so tried to return it unopened and were told that we, a small church, were classed as a business so had no right to return an item. There seemed to be no wriggle room, and whilst the delivery was swift and our emails were responded to quickly we are disappointed that there was nothing we could do about the unwanted item.

Absolutely! We are a charity and tried to pay on line with a charity bank (CAF) debit card. The site would not accept this unless we paid a large fee, even larger than the credit card fee, because they considered it a 'company' card. I tried calling to see if this could be waived and got short shrift with the sales department.
