“Avoid them! They sell faulty goods and blame you!”

I bought very expensive replacement ear pads for my Audeze LCD-X headphones for £79. Within 7 weeks of careful studio-only use, one pad just peeled and fell off. Two weeks later the other one too peeled off. The fabric that holds the pads onto headphone is just far too fragile. I mean, it flakes when I gently brush my finger against it. I emailed homeavdirect about this, but they ignored it. I then opened a dispute on PayPal, but homeavdirectbut turned it around and blamed me instead. They argued that I have pulled the pads off myself using force. So there I was, watching my £79 being flushed down a drain! I wish I read the negative reviews before my purchase, because there are lots of people complaining about the same treatment from them. I would have gone shopping some place else.

“No reply to emails!”

All ok until you want to return a fault item, No reply to emails.Pay a little bit more and use John Lewis! AVOID

“The worst returns policy”

Do not use unless you are 100% confident of your purchase. They will not accept any returns. All claims of an 'extended' christmas returns policy were smoke & mirrors. Don't touch them, if your product is faulty, you will be out of pocket.

“AVOID”

Gutted with my purchased from Home AV Direct via ebay! I purchased an amp for my husband for christmas, i only work part time so it took alot of saving but i finally found one at a good price so i snapped it up and put it away for xmas. On xmas day my husband opened it and was thrilled...that was short lived! Despite being "fully tested and fully working ex display" one of the ports does not work meaning we wouldnt be able to have all of our equipment connected at once. I messaged them and explained the situation but was told tough, too much time had passed. I explained it was a gift, it had been wrapped and put away and this was the first time it had been used, still no good. I asked if there was anything we could do, no reply! At this point id have been happy with them just fixing it or swapping it but they wouldnt do a thing. I had to go down the PAYPAL route but the seller told paypal id changed my mind so they found in their favour, i didnt change my mind I REALLY REALLY wanted this amp, id still LOVE a working amp as now it doesnt work at all...nothing but a black tv screen! Im £189 down! Still they will do nothing to help me. On ebay they have sold LOTS of the same amp ...all ex display...i havent been to this shop but do you really display so many of the same item? They are an approved pioneer dealer but pioneer say this isnt true? I thought id found a great uk seller, great products at great prices and i would have gone back again and again...my husband used to work for a shop selling sound and vision equipment so theres always something on his xmas list. Instead i feel ive been ripped off! Im totally gutted, out of pocket and wishing id never found this seller. All i wanted you to do was fix the problem, you didnt even try! Terrible customer service that i intend to make known.

This is my review which id like to update as im unable to edit it. since leaving this review i have been contacted by a manager at home av, who has very kindly replaced the amp for us now and also included a 12 month warranty with the replacement product.

“Fast and friendly service”

I ordered integrated stereo amplifier and speakers from Home AV Direct. I live in Estonia and not all UK sellers are willing to send their stuff overseas. No problems here with this company. Response to emails was quick and friendly. Prices were good. Just ended product was replaced with newer model for free. Packages were sent just as promised and arrived just as promised. No problems with products either. Very good service so overall verdict 5 stars.

“Bad Return Policy”

My Story About The Purchase Of A Bose Acoustic Mass Home Cinema from an approved authorized Bose dealer. I called Home Av Direct on 02 Sept and Purchased a Bose Acoustic mass System costing £420.00, Unfortunately my builders had already plastered the front room ceiling before I could run the cables through the ceiling. I called Home Av Direct up on the 16 September ( 2 weeks later ) asking for a refund and I was told that I am not entitled to a refund and in fact I had ONLY 7 days to return I was totally shocked that the company return policy was only 7 days and when I queried why they had not informed me of this at time of sale I was told that they did not have to. After investigating I found that this was untrue and in fact they are responsible for informing me about these terms when selling an item over the phone. The consumer protection is called The long distance selling regulations. So where does this leave me, well I have tried to resolve my issues with this company directly and even asked to speak to the managing director Raj who who not take my call but they are not willing to find a mutual agreement therefore I am left with no option other than file a county court judgement against Home Av Direct. Final Verdict Be warned when dealing with what I consider sneaky companies trying to hide behind regulations that they do not follow when legally due to do so. Always ask for a return policy and as far as buying anything from Home Av – well never again. See you in court Home Av Direct
