I ordered an electric oven a month ago to feed my family. The money was promptly taken, however we are still waiting for delivery.
There may be cheaper deals on this site but now I realise the true cost of ordering from a cheaper company. I would definitely have paid more to receive the order more quickly.
We were only sent an 'update' on delivery a month after purchase.
After calling I was not given the opportunity to speak to anyone in charge but just had a young girl repeating the same line to me over and over again - "I can't give you a delivery date until the stock comes in". It's unbelievable that they should take your money when they don't even have the stock in their possession.
Also you are discriminated against if you live in a flat as the drivers are not insured to help carry your product up any stairs!!! So if you are elderly or at any physical disadvantage they will not help you out.
I will never use this company again and I urge others to pay a few more pounds for better service.

Dear Annabel

Firstly, please let me express my disappointment to learn of your experience with Appliance World. I'd like to apologise that your appliance was not delivered within a satisfactory time scale and that you were only updated a month after purchase.

At the time of ordering, we did state that item was on order with our supplier and quoted you a delivery time of 10-14 working days.

Unfortunately, we can't supply exact delivery dates before receiving the item into our warehouse as this risks letting the customer down if we in turn are let down by our supplier; we feel it's important to be safe rather than sorry.

We do not discriminate against any customer. However, as you correctly pointed out, our drivers are not simply insured to help carry appliances up any stairs. We are open about this and state it within the terms and conditions which all customers must accept before placing an order online and in the order acknowledgement too.

Also, if the item is on order with our supplier, customers have the option to pay a 10% deposit up front to secure the order and then pay the remaining balance with delivery.

We have placed your order onto a saturday delivery at no extra cost which is not normally possible at this busy time of year - however we are doing our best to fulfil all orders.

However, please let me offer my apologies for the service you have received and hope that you would consider ordering from us in the future. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact Lydia, our Customer Services Manager, on 0844 493 2525.
