“Wowcher needs exposing”

OK, I've tried emailing the company that sent out my Tablet. They refuse to reply. I've tried emailing Wowcher directly - They refuse to reply. I can't get my tablet to connect to my router. I sure the solution is probably very simple, so why won't Wowcher provide a service to its customers (specifically ME). Come on Wowcher, make me a happy customer. OR will everyone who has received this awful service combine to publicise in the national press/TV/Radio etc etc and expose Wowcher. (read more)

“Vouchers sold without permission ”

We ordered two vouchers for a tattooist in nottingham, for a friends birthday and for myself, having booked the time off work we were quickly told by the tattooists that they have never given their permission for these to be sold and no one would accept them!!!! You will need to get in contact with Bodycraft then to dicuss this as they completely deny any contact with you and any agreement - there are three shops in nottingham and each refused to accept the voucher so I do require my money back on both.

On the 8th May 2013 I purchased a voucher for "£29 instead of £69 for a 4D baby scan including colour photo & optional gender confirmation at Miracle in Progress, Loughborough - save 58%" I reedemed this voucher last night however this is a complete trades description act! “WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER”

“Terrible- faulty system, slow response time, money gone ”

I placed an order with wowcher only to say there was a problem with MY card (untrue as I had just used it elsewhere) and that the transaction had not gone through and to try again. I waited a while and repeated the process, second time the same thing happened: I was told the transaction had NOT gone through , did NOT receive a voucher and received an order number to contact them. We aim to respond to our customer emails within 3 working days, but sometimes this can take a little longer.

Please read the below as to the reasons why your payment may have been declined.

Wowcher have a security system in place that vet’s all payments to maximize customer security, when an order is placed the payment is held while these checks take place, this is for your security ensuring that the funds are available if and when the payment is authorised.

The value is therefore removed from your available balance.

If the payment is approved we take the money, or, if like in this case, the payment is rejected the money is released back to the bank and can take a few days to show back in your available balance.

To minimise the chance of this situation occurring in the future please ensure that your registered address matches your card billing address, also please be aware that we do not accept non UK issued cards.

Thank you for replying to my complaint, though I find it disappointing that it took my writing a negative review to invoke a response. I am not sure why I could not be given this information over the phone when I first called.
I have also emailed you directly.

In response to your explanation:

My card is a UK issued card, in fact it is an Ulsterbank card.

My registered address does match my card billing address, I had double checked this. In fact, the details I used were ones saved on to my account from a previous Wowcher I had purchased, which went through without a problem.

There was clearly sufficient funds in my account, since it was taken out, twice.

I look forward to further clarification on this matter. I would also like to note, I have yet to have an acknowledgment of the difficulty this has caused me, let alone an apology.

The money is not in my bank account. Though it may not have been sent through to your payment system yet, it has been removed from mine to my inconvenience.

“Rubbish service”

I never received the email with the code to purchase my deal, when I went on the wowcher website the code was given as a PDF which obviously didn't work as a link to the company. I entered it manually but when I entered the discount code it was not accepted. I have emailed wowcher three times and not received a reply and I have emailed the company selling the goods an not received a reply from them either. I would never recommend wowche and am also now very wary of using any discount site. (read more)

“Should show postal charges”

I'm a new customer and haven't received my product yet so hopefully that will be ok . A bit dismayed to read all the negative comments and wish I had bothered to check out the site reviews as I doubt I would have placed an order. My main point is the fact P&P should be included after the price,I could find no mention of it although was not surprised with the final P&P extra charge. Well I would like to say that since I put my review on here, Wowcher customer services have been great. I was awaiting a response from them after I emailed them in response to an email I received saying they were declining my refund. Well last Thursday I received an email from the manager saying they are investigating my complaint. And today I received an email to say that they would credit my Wowcher wallet with the sum of £199! This is all I wanted in the first place as I was over the 7 days so it was too late to request a refund. But I am happy with the outcome and how Wowcher dealt with it in the end. Although the merchant has still claimed the money and the credit has come from Wowcher not refunded from the merchant. I got the outcome I wanted in the end xx

Hi All, I have used Wowcher a few times before & it seemed to go well until I purchased a laptop from them. The laptop should have been delivered within a few months - it took 3 months!! When I finally received the laptop, it was not as expected & so I requested to return the item. “Non Delivery no response from customer service to 3 emails”

I've emailed Wowcher 3 times since 4th April and the merchant once for a non delivery of a steamer I bought. I've not received any replies! “Taken my money and got nothing”

Whet to purchase something on wowcher enterd my card details and it said my details where enterd incorrectly so checked them and they where correct and this happend aboutfour or five times and it kept saying my card details where incorrect so i gave up and I then checked my bank account and the money had been taken out of my bank account. “Be warned - total theft of customers money and false...”

Bought and item and within 24 hours of receipt phoned Wowcher as I wanted to return the item as was nothing like described. Was emailed a pre-paid returns label and sent item back next day, with proof of postage. “Wowcher is utter rubbish!”

I just bought a voucher for a duvet set which looked lovely for £13 instead of 39.99 when I got onto the website to redeem it I was shocked to see that they charged £5.99 for delivery of a duvet and two pillow cases which wowcher had failed to mention anywhere on their site!! So instead of wanting to pay the £13 plus the extra delivery cost I wanted a refund as I looked on their site I discovered I can't actually get my money back I can only get credit! For £13! Well I have just received an email from the people who offer the bedding and therefore the people wowcher essentially works with on this occasion saying that I have to choose another item because mine has been damaged. This is just a pisstake as my money has already been taken out of my account. So I want a refund seeing as I can't get the set I want in the first place. A merchant ripped me off (Raizes Brazilian Restaurant in Bethnal Green) as they came back to me half way through a meal and informed me that the wowcher I had supplied had already been redeemed and forced me to pay full price. I am a uni student, trying to sort out a holiday with some friends and went through wowcher to book a cheap holiday. It initially looked like a fabulous deal, which we bought, however we ran in to problems as soon as we had handed over our money. I second your comment about diabolical customer service and after care. On the 11th Febuary 2013, I returned an Elgento Digital Bread maker, by registered mail because it wasn't a bread maker but a glorified electric baking tin. I had email responses from people at the Customer services department and from Wowcher, all promising to look into the matter and get back to me. I'm still waiting .... and waiting for the matter to come to a conclusion. I want my money back. I am soon going to take them to the Small Claims Court because I can see no end to this matter.The most galling thing about dealing with Wowcher is that there is no way you can contact them except by email and then you wait 72 hours for an answer. What kind of way is that to run a business? Why don't we all write to Associated Newspapers Chief Executive and complain about Wowcher? That might liven things us.

Claimed credit online on the 6 April before wowcher expires (already accepting a 50% loss on the wowcher for the claiming within the 30 days and not redeeming). Got an automated message. I have emailed wowcher again yesterday, but it seems I am not the only one with a problem here.

Why doesn't wowcher work on customer service and actually reply to emails sent directly to them instead of spending time trawling through reviews?
It's incredible, I get a reply so promptly on here yet a direct complaint goes unanswered.

As I stated in my email, I am not interested in now having contact with this salon, as I would not trust anywhere that is this unprofessional to perform a treatment on me.

My voucher expires in may, however I expect a full refund (not a wowcher credit) well before this time.

I ordered two bracelets from Illuminata for birthday presents and chased the merchant several times as goods had not been received and received no response to my emails. Today 26th March one bracelet has arrived broken. I have now been told by Wowcher that I need to get my money back from the merchant and not them. Ok I have used Wowcher in the past, I have had mixed service from them. This time is the last time I use them. I bought a pair of foldable shoes. They ended as normal and I got the code. The link that was given didnt work, so I went onto the Merchants site and tried to get them through that and put the code in at checkout, which 99% of companies have! “Dreadful Service”

Booked an anniversary overnight stay for Edinburgh in early December. No response from the hotel about our reservation after trying to email and call. Have been trying to get a refund for the past 4 weeks, keep get fobbed off by wowcher and ignored by hotel. If this is not resolved soon we will be contacting trading standards. I will never use wowcher again their customer service is a joke! (read more)
