On 30 June I bought a Meerkats Experience from Wowcher. The closing date was mid-July. On 4 july I checked my emails and found one dated 1 July asking for my name and address details so that Activity Superstore could send me my voucher and booking instructions. I was supposed to reply by midday on 3 July which had already passed. So why did they suddenly slap a time limit on the deal when it was originally advertised with a closing date of mid July which was still in the future? Unlike many people, I do not spend my entire life on the computer so if they wanted me to contact them they should have given me more than 2 days to do so. I have never had to do this before with Groupon, NCrowd deals or Amazon deals, all of which I use on a semi-regular basis. Anyway I sent my address details in an email and asked in the same email, why they had slapped on this time limit when the original time limit had not even arrived. No reply of course. So I called them. When I finally made contact (their phone line is atrocious, I was on hold for the best part of an hour) they asked me to hold again while they contacted Activity Superstore, came back on the line and said all was sorted and I would receive the information by post by the end of the week. 2 weeks went by, I called again and was assured that Wowcher had sent an email to Activity Superstore (AS) and advised to contact them directly. I did so, they were much more efficient than Wowcher, checked the order and guess what, they had not received any communication from Wowcher!! Back I went to Wowcher and after some frustration I spoke to a customer service monkey. He apologised etc etc etc and offered me the option of a credit plus £10, or a cash refund of the amount I had paid. I opted for the refund and said he would sort it. Another 2 or 3 weeks went by and still nothing. I contacted Wowcher again and the same person  replied saying he couldn't give me a cash refund as I had already redeemed the deal!! This after I had previously explained that yes I had redeemed, but was unable to book the deal because of their incompetence. They still will not budge on this. Why on earth would I want credit when I have no intention of using them again?? I am going to avoid them like the plague and would advise everyone else to do so as well.
